Vanderbilt hired Derrick Mason, the DC of Stanford with a big reputation from beating Oregon 2 years in a row with his schemes.

For a brief period he was an assistant on the Ohio staff, a staff known for its very stable lineup of coaches with the OL, QB, OC and DC all having been in Athens for a decade. That changed today with the OL and QB coach moving to follow Derrick Mason over at Vanderbilt.
