CJ has 17. Faz has 15. Rob has 10
we can't or won't guard a 3pt shooter????!!!!
UAB Athletics @UABathletics
Final media timeout of the game, UAB leads 73-60.
76-64 now with 1:44 to go
Steve Irvine @SteveIrvine04
UAB 78, UTSA 65 final. CJ Washington 20 pts, 11 reb
78-65 final - hard to tell w/o any audio how the game was but "watching" the stats go from Yahoo sounds like at times sloppy & then we'd get a bit of energy. it's a win in conference
UTEP appears to be doing better in Murfreesboro than we did. If Swing hurt his back, with the short turnaround, he may play very limited, if at all, minutes.

UTEP has been without their players long enough to have worked out their kinks. It will be a tough game. I will be there and they better not lose.
It will be a double header with the women on Saturday night.
We looked good tonight. Missed about 12 bunnies in the paint. I like the way we are playing right now. Watts is rising at the perfect time. We are going to be hard to beat if we can keep the TOs down.
Not much of a crowd when I showed up 2 minutes before tipoff. Students came in late, and attendance was 4,017. Only the third time we have had over 4,000 at a home game this season. I hope for a larger crowd Saturday night against UTEP.

UAB had 23 assists tonight!

Watts played 20 minutes.
Good job blocking shots tonight. It was nice to watch a game where we weren't turning the ball over every third trip down the court.

UTSA kept it a little closer than it should have been by hitting all those threes. It looked to me like we were closing out pretty well on the shooters, but they had some really high and quick releases.

The officiating was a little annoying but not the worse I've seen.

I really hope Swing is ok. It looked to me like he was holding the ice more on the hip area than the lower back. I hate it when defenders duck under a player and take out their legs. Seems like that there should be a harsher penalty for dangerous plays like that.
Frazier was only peripherally acquainted with the game. He didn't really know the game tonight. Nonetheless, the A/T ratio was bangin like the Golden Girls, and Washington and Foz dominated down low as we thought vs the Roadrunners. Now the task will be much taller--literally--on Saturday with Los Mineros. I hope we really come correct, because the Miners did work in Murfreesboro.
Not feeling good about the UTEP game. UTEP with the W over MTSU, is treating this like a business trip. Not sure what the Blazers are doing.
UAB is now credited with 13 blocks, as Crane said one should be added to the preliminary total of 12.

Faz had 4 blocks and CJ had 3.
We'll be fine Saturday. CJ is back to his old self and Watts is coming on. This is the best we've looked all year IMO.
I said we'd win by 10-15 and there ya have it..

We just can't seem to really blow out any of these really bad teams, and there's been plenty of opportunities on our schedule.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we lose to UTEP on Saturday. They are hot. We beat a 300+ team by just 13. We've won just 3 out of our last 5 against truly terrible teams.

Glad watts played well and got solid minutes in the third straight game.

Chad Frazier played down to the competition again.

Hopefully I'm just being pessimistic.

You are.
I'm watching the game and came to this realization, I have no idea what UAB is trying to accomplish offensively. Tonight, I saw a lot of spacing issues with the guys in several offensive sets.
I didn't see the game, but looking at the box score and how did Tosin Mehinti foul out in just 8 minutes of action? We are going to lean heavily on him next year and this was by far his worst game as a blazer. Hoping it is a teaching point for the staff.
I noticed the same thing. It's kind of hard to worry about it since it hasn't been an ongoing issue with him this season. Everybody has an off night once in a while. Hopefully that was all it was. I was glad to see Watts have another solid outing.
