He gone! Supposedly is cleaning out his office today.
A collective cheer goes up from the players.

So is everybody else........almost disliked as much as McGee.

Why was he so disliked?
I played for the guy and always liked him. If anyone disliked them it's because they couldn't handle how tough he was. He did the program a lot of good in his department, IMHO. It's encouraging to hear the players had a meeting and are going to keep everything the same as far as workout and throwing schedules. It's discouraging to hear that this is the 3rd week of winter workouts and we have yet to have one organized workout.

That should change pretty fast..........a short break in weight-training does a lot of good sometimes.
His conditioning led to a ridiculous amount of injuries. I don't buy the whole field excuse. Maybe he pushed the players too hard which I'm all for; unless they end up not contributing due to injuries.

Absolutely, over-training HAD to have something to do with it. Over training almost always sets you up for injuries......even for guys that don't play contact sports.
We lost a player to injury during pre game warm ups. LOL
Not sure who you blame for that.
I think all players will learn to hate a strength coach sooner or later.
The players should be ok with a little break. Spring ball should get a late start due to our coaching situation. They will have time to get back into shape if they are skipping workouts.

The players had from thanksgiving until spring semester started to rest. By now they should have gotten all the soreness out from the first two weeks and hitting it hard in the weight room and on the field.

Yep, on top of that, there are different phases to the off season workout schedule so missing one phase puts you behind in the others.
yeah always thought chandler did an awesome job, players are just soft, by now their bodies should be refreshed and ready to pound the weights and dominate matt drills.
It may also be a factor that with so few remaining coaches, recruiting came before leading workouts. The team's peer leadership is probably more effective in this phase anyways since they are very knowledgeable of what needs to be done.
I liked Chandler, just think a lot of players were a little soft and thought workouts were too hard. He was a little bi-polar and players say he had his favorites, but overall he worked the guys hard and got them in shape. There was a lot of injuries, though some were freak accidents.
