On the @footballscoop Bill Clark to UAB report: someone in his circle asked me extensively about that job. I know there's interest.
I dunno, some guy that made $200,000 a year with incentives said it wasn't gonna happen.
Also, SCORE!!!
Seems like a good hire, if its true. But you got to hate it for Neal if he missed out on a DC promotion because his name keeps popping up for a job he never gets.
Hmmmmm.... That was fast.

If true, you've got a good one (all around).

Did you have eggs for breakfast? Because its all over your face.
Football scoop now says uab hasn't extended an offer but he'd probably accept it.
Yeah...no way anybody has even been interviewed face to face yet.
No, eggs will be on my face if he can win at UAB. Said all along if the compensation was right he would leave but I didn't think he would be this desperate.

Knew he would leave JSU but thought it would be a better job.

Wish him luck as I've stated have known him for years and if anyone can win at UAB it will be him.

He will leave ASAP.
At least interview five coaches.

Yep, and not like the 5 they came up with the last time.
Garrick McGee
Curtis Luper
Paul Petrino
Steed Lobotzke
Turner Gill
Seems to be just speculation and someone close to Neal trying to force the issue.

Maybe.

I saw it this way: someone close to Clark spilled the beans that he has been interviewed and he thought it went very well. So, this person spilled it to break the story and be the source. We have no idea if the interviews with other candidates have gone better or if they have even taken place. I don't even know if we've interviewed Clark (although it appears we probably have at least talked to him.)
Seems like it is too early for anyone to be interviewed unless someone wants to fast track the process.
Days we went without a head coach two years ago: 8.

We're on day 4 this time around.

I know Mackin knew he was going to be looking before he let Callaway go, but a good AD is never caught flat-footed.

"An announcement by the end of the week" (assuming Friday) would be day 8.

Not looking for omens or portents, but just comparing turnaround times. I don't know if it's "too fast" or not. I don't know whether it's going to be Clark or somebody else. What I believe is that Bryan Mackin probably had a much busier weekend than I had, and I was pretty busy.
Rumors are fun.
Learning more this morning, JSU maybe fumbling more than UABs BOT. If so their goes our only advantage.

Decision (as most expect) will be can I win and advance at UAB? Money is a non issue as JSU will not be in UABs ballpark. [/php]
I can't imagine they accepted applications, whittled down to finalist and interviewed all that fast. But Bill Clark would be good.
