Agreed! I went back to "God Bless America" because it supports vets. New UAB tag looks like it only supports SOM!

Well, to be fair, while Alabama's mascot IS Big Al, you barely ever see him on UA marketing anymore. It's all the Script "A".

One other fringe benefit of getting rid of the old guard whose time is drawing to a close next year is that they might finally bring back the OLD Alabama logo, which ironically, the Bear flourished under. If that isn't a sign that Cubby doesn't really care about what his father stood for and is just mad with power and money, I don't know what is.

He's entitled in this case! Blazers fans (kids especially) loved "Beauregard T. Rooster" as much then as they do "Blaze" today...

Actually, the slogan was created by an advertising agency while Carol Garrison was still president. I guess it's possible Watts gave them the idea though.

Blaze came in a little late before the game but was there the whole game and present during the post game. It took UAB a long time to settle on Blaze. He can't go anywhere! The Rooster, the gay silver Mercury looking guy, and a few other flops if I remember correctly.

I currently (well through November legally) have the old Blaze tag with "2XPAW". I asked at the new Hoover Met Courthouse Annex (no lines, walked right up!) about just taking the stickers and putting them on the old tag and they said you would get away with it for a little while but that cops would eventually pull you over for invalid tag. So, I got a new "God Bless America" tag which supports wounded vets with "APAWPAW" which is exactly how my three year old says "Hay Paw Paw". I'll get a UAB Blazers tag frame from Snoozy's and a Blaze sticker and be good to go. The lady at the annex also said the UAT fans were just as mad when the elephant was removed from their tags a few years ago. GOOD! I really like the take with Blaze as the background of the whole tag - just needs to be lighter colored like UAT's elephant and AU's tiger was several years ago. It may be that the design for everyone has been standardized some to make the reading easier for law enforcement agents (which was mentioned earlier). If that's the case, I don't have a problem with the design - just don't like it anymore, and again, like someone said earlier, I'll just contribute directly instead of through the tag purchase.
