Yep. Channel and time have big impact, but so does being ranked. RU holding down 15-19 on ENews
Correction there were 21 tv conference games I added the UH vs UL game to the list
I think that it will be interesting to see the numbers from next year and see if we can match or improve our ratings without UL. That will be important for any future contracts. Rutgers didn't do that well tv ratings wise.

Of the 14 games on ESPN or ESPN2, Louisville was in 9 of them. Next year, other AAC teams will the beneficiary of those prime slots. The AAC ratings will be just fine.
this is outside the topic but would just throw out there UH vs Memphis game stopped broadcasting twice for 15-20 minutes for thunder/lighting. no the game didnt stop, they just stopped broadcasting while they game was playing (they said a precaution for there staff). the game was almost unwatchable if you werent a fan of either team. and in both breaks they didnt say when they would start re-airing. i dont see any non UH/Memphis fan waiting for who knows how long to watch a espnnews game when 4 other games are on. especially knowing you were missing huge parts of the game, cause the game was still playing

a virginia tech fan should only have one question on his mind

one question to ponder

one question that defies all rational explanation

it should consume all of your sports brainpower

it should resonate to the depth of your hokie core

What was frank beamer thinking when he hired scot loeffler?

The Big 10 thinks they bring the NY Market. These numbers look like the New Brunswick market.

The other pattern is that ESPN games did better than ESPN2 games did better than ESPNews games.

Part of this is inherent. Part had something to do with ESPN choosing to put our ranked teams on the bigger networks.

That was an excruciating experience, both for the coverage problems and the way the Tigers were hanging in but stopped being able to score at all.

Wait! What? Are you saying that the AAC benefitted from a strategy of seeking out large market teams that eventually paid off when those teams had BCS runs? I have been told that is complete hokum.

The title of this thread should probably be revised to add "football". Since we are now in the middle of the basketball season, some, like myself, may jump to the wrong conclusion.
ucf and ul are flagships in football. Hopefully someone can step up and take ul's place now that they are moving on. Maybe ECU?

Last year they were and that's why their games were on ESPN which leads to higher ratings. But I think that will change from year to year as our teams develop and will depend on success on the field. Flagships are Michigan and OSU in a Big Ten. Texas and OU in Big 12. We don't have anyone in our conference that is head and shoulders above the rest in football.
