There is speculation that IF Strong does go to TX, then Bobby Petrino may go back to UL again. The good news for WKU is the way BP's contract was structured. He had a 4 year deal with a base salary of $850K with a $1.2M buyout, so WKU will be paid $350K to have BP coach us to an 8-4 season and produce an All American in Antonio Andrews.
Nice... For WKU if that happens! Question for you, is WKU in bowling green? If not where is it? If we end up going to WKU this year I would like to try and convince my mom to take me and my friends (I'm only 16 or I would just go).
UNT Coach Dan McCarney & UL Coach Charlie Strong are buddies from their U of Florida days.

Funny thing if Strong gets UT job is:

North Texas opens its 2014 football season at UT-Austin this next August 30'th.

GMG!

PS: UL's $1.2 million buyout for UT would be chunk change down in Austin if they hire Strong.

PS2: TAMU has a black HFC and UT will probably not be outdone by the Aggies. They still compete with each other in every way albeit they are now in difference conferences............for now.

A Little Texas History: UT and TAMU were given special monetary percs by an 1870's Texas Congress when they decreed that those 2 schools would get what is called Permanent University Fund monies which for the most part is a Fort Knox load of monies which came from west Texas oil fields.

The P.U.F. basically the main reason those 2 schools get all the chicken $alad in the Lone Star State and the rest of us get chicken $hit. It's getting better for the rest of us but those 2 schools did sorta' get a good jump start for greatness by that..........1870's Texas Congress.
I said this a year ago, UOfL would be only job Petrino would take after one season and a lot of speculation he will be named coach soon next week at UofL..If that happens than expect WKU to announce Jeff Brohm as Head Coach ASAP...Have heard players at WKU hated BP, but loved Brohm and he has recruited most of these guys, so it would not be the disaster after most places Petrino has left..We should keep a lot of our highly ranked recruiting class if Brohm is head coach...
Strong to Texas (!!)
Golden to Penn State (??)

(If you ask me P-U can keep him.)
I have sources saying Strong to Miami, Fisher to Texas, look for movement Tuesday.

also heard saban was offered 10 million over ten years for texas job, but said no.

golden interviews tomorrow as a formality.

sttong may go to tx if there will be an issue with UL and Miami being in same conference. 50-50 on Strong to TX right now.

strong was TX 3rd choice. Fisher wants same money as Saban was offered, TX says no.

just rumors
Official now per ESPN....Strong will be announced Monday as Texas head coach..Let the dominoes fall....Will be a fun week or so for WKU fans...
The coaching carousel is like the hunger games.... May the odds be ever in your favor!

.
Yes, it is in Bowling Green. The campus is one the best looking campus in the state hands down. The football stadium is relatively small seating around 22,000 but is done really well and a good place to watch a game. Bowling Green is a cool city and a nice place to visit. My hometown of course but I would say the same thing even I only visited there a few times.

Rather bring Taggart back from South Florida than to have Skip Holtz...Question what was Louisiana Tech thinking? Was that the best you guys could do?

Cause then Louisville will take a coach from CUSA so then the CUSA school has to look for a new coach.

It was kinda a wink and a nudge in the direction of WKU is about to lose their coach.
