After seeing the competition and upsets over the past two nights, to think that teams like UCF and Oklahoma wouldn't even be considered in a four team playoff is terrible.

Stop the SEC bias and propaganda and expand the college football playoffs!!!
It will, and should, expand to more teams down the road.

I agree with this greatly! How in the world can an SEC team, say an undefeated Florida for example, honestly be considered for a playoff when they have never played a regular season game away team outside the state of Florida this century? What does it show in this example that I list here? How would they compete against a Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12 or even an AAC team for that matter?

There are too few games played with too many teams across the country to know how match-ups would turn out.
16 Team playoff with the 10 conference champions, 5 at large spots, and one flex spot for Notre Dame if they are Top 15 or another at-large team because they suck and for some reason require something like that. Only way you can truly determine a national champion while also increasing the value of the regular season and allowing schools to increase revenue from home games in the first round along with using the 6 major access bowls for the other rounds (Orange, Cotton, Fiesta, and Peach for the Quarters, Rose and Sugar for the Semis and National Championship Game) which would allow for the bowls to still get theirs. All other teams could also play in the secondary bowls, which would mean as much in this scenario as they do at present. That is the only possible scenario where no one truly "loses".
One good SEC team loses and people jump to the assumption that the "SEC teams are the best" is 'bias'.

Its really not bias its a fact, honestly look at their records.
They blow out any other conference by galaxy's when it comes to bowl wins. The SEC is about to get their 10th national championship in 16 years also making it 8 straight. And thats just the BCS NC..

Every once and a while one of the best SEC teams goes down, but its rare.

Oklahoma honestly beat one of the best, but thats a fluke.
And hey the SEC hasn't invested in oklahoma.

yet..
Lol Baylor wouldn't have been in Playoff either.

I'm against expansion because of player safety. These kids don't get paid and they are out their risking their careers for this. 14 games enroute to championship is enough.

There are a lot of things that need to be fixed in college football but the number of games isn't one of them.

"Death to the BCS" chronicles exactly what you stated. What fun college football would be watching.. say a Florida team play AT Michigan in late December!! Talk about must see tv! It works for the NFL.

Stoops did the country a big favor, by exposing Alabama, and the hype and the propaganda machine about the SEC. Slive must be taking a BC powder this morning, if not this he will Tuesday morning after Florida, exposes Auburn. This will drive the argument for a 8 game playoff , sooner than late.
SEC is still the greatest conference ever. One game doesn't change that.
16 team playoff, automatics bids to every league champion and 6 at-large bids. Until college football wakes up realizes that is what the people want we will continue to get a joke of a postseason.

Stop the bias too. Louisville and UCF would have deserved a chance at the national title this season.

4 playoff games?

You want an unpaid kid to play 17 games in college per season enroute to national championship?

8 playoff games?

You want an unpaid kid to play 20 games in college per season enroute to national championship?

I must be missing something; I don't understand "8 playoff games" and "play 20 games" comment based on 16 teams in a post-season playoff.

oops

4 playoff games

17 total:
12 regular
1 conference championship
4 playoff games

still a lot for an unpaid player risking his career

They play 15 in high school to win a state title. They play 18-19 in the pros.
how many games does the FCS champion play? 16? so no need to even talk about the nfl or high school. there are unpaid college kids doing that already.

I have been preaching this too. All conference champions get bids and the final 6 at large bids should be chosen by a selection committee. The BCS numbers can't rank heart, desire or coaching. A four team play-off based on BCS rankings solves absolutely no problems. When will people wake up and realize that a mathmatical algorithm is not the solution in determining a national championship or playoff?

We should cut the season back to 11 games. Even with 12 games, only the two playing for the championship will play 17 games. This has some how worked in FCS so I am not sure how it would not work on the FBS level.

2 games will change it, once Florida beats Auburn

Agree and also seed the teams and play the games prior to the championship at the home site of the lower seeded teams. Just like D1AA does and the NFL. Then you alleviate the "fans can't travel 3-4 wks in a row" BS.

Attendance will not be an issue if the better seeds are playing at home. The teams that don't make the playoff go to bowl games. It's a no brainer.
