Basically the home court advantage. For whatever reason, it's tough to win on the road. It would be really nice to get this first one.
Between semesters, that home court advantage will not be worth quite as much. I hope.
WE win by 10

bet your money on it
I'm with you, Inside.

I'm just glad I haven't put money on Kerry's predictions so far this season. I wouldn't bet money on this one, either. I think we win tonight, but I can't say I have a ton of confidence that it will happen.

With regard to the Las Vegas line, I generally believe those folks know a lot more about predicting games than I do. Their jobs depend on it. On the other hand, I've got to believe they put less time and effort into coming up with lines for midmajor games than they do for high profile games. I think, if I were to bet on sports, I'd focus on midmajor games. We may actually know a little bit more about our team than they do. However, they know more about Texas State considering I know nothing about them other than their record.
Not sure on that home court advantage. We have not beat a D1 opponent at home this year. I'm think UALR wins but hoping I'm wrong.

Our fans seem more confident about our chances than you do about your team. Lucky for you fans are not good predictors of game results. Most on here never heard of Texas State before they joined the Sun Belt. With your 35,000 student body, and location, I think you will be one of the stronger teams in the league before too long. Lucky for us, you are not there yet, so I think our chances for an upset (based on the line) are pretty good. Hopefully, we will develop a good rivalry over the years (lot's of folks in Arkansas don't care much for Texas going back to the SWC days).
If the new Belt will just settle down and stay pat for a while, there ought to be some good rivalries develop. App State and Ga Southern already have a bitter rivalry.

We win if we score 21 points from the three point line. If we don't, it will be very close or we'll lose.04-cheers

I agree that we will improve. Basketball was negelected for years with poor coaching hires. Kasper is a shift in that thought. The locker rooms are being upgraded and other improvements may occur as well. Now that football reached FBS level and the stadium was expanded I think the school will focus on bringing basketball up to a higher level. The main problem is lack of interst overall but I think a lot has to do with the poor quality of the teams over the last 15-20 years. We do not know much about UALR. I tend to think of them like UTA since you are a non football school. UTA focuses its resources on basketball and have had some good teams, nothing to catch the national spotlight, but good teams.

I see by you record that this may be a closer game then I thought but I just know Texas States tendancies so I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

I think UTA is probably a lot like us. We have also had some good teams, but done nothing to get in the national spotlight in almost 30 years.

BTH now says the average prediction is TSU by 1.3 points. (In other words, they don't know any better than we do.)
Who wants it the most?
we are going to win
