SBC OOC

High number of home games (against d1 teams)

WKU – 7
ULL – 4
USA – 4
Notes: Not a whole hell of a lot of d1 home games this year in the ooc

High number of road games

Tx st – 8
Uta – 7
UALR – 7
GSU – 7

Conference record against d1 schools in ooc

ULL 6-4
ASU – 6-4
WKU 7-5
GSU 5-6
USA 3-7
UALR 3-7
UTA 3-7
TROY 3-7
ULM 2-5
TX ST 2-9

Notes

As a league we were losers with only 3 teams having winning records against d1 schools.

ULL and WKU had more home games to get it done than the rest, so I guess ASU had the best OOC season in terms of total d1 wins vs home games.

Final Thoughts

The league is down and there is no excuse for not being in the conference race for 1st and in the sbc finals. Our schedule had a lot of body bag games and some 40-60 games. Odds are we were going to come out with the record we have.

Time to go beat the other like teams
After the dust cleared, it looks like the teams we thought would be in the top half of the belt are there.

When I picked us 4th, I figured ULL, WKU, and GaSt would be ahead of us and it would be a dogfight to beat out ASU and USA. Nothing has happened to significantly change my view, other than UTA is probably better than I figured.
UTA has a good program, probably in a rare down year.
I read that different I see this as wide open and we should be there.

OK, going down the line.

ULL probably has the best all-round point in the league, but we could have the best pure point, and enough depth.
Ben and Josh will at least hold their own at the 2, and Ben could be one of the best around if he keeps up the current pace.
Any better one-on-one defenders than Leroy?
Lumping the 4 and 5 together, there are probably better combinations in the league (USA and ULL come to mind), but we certainly are right up there.

No reason we shouldn't be competitive.

We will be competitive. We almost always are. The results of a few close games (which are inevitable) can make the difference between 9-9 and 13-5.
I don't think anyone is going undefeated in the Belt this year.

And Kemy can help at both the two and three. I'd like to see him backing up at both the two and three, which would give him substantial minutes without taking away minutes from Ben or Leroy. At this point, he's a much better option than Stetson at the three.04-cheers
