Saw "doc" on channel 7 news this morning singing and playing piano
Hey, I always wanted to know a celebrity!

I saw someone filming last night, but I wasn't aware it was a TV station.
It was a nice event. Wore me out. Charlie Friedman (plays violin) and I played about two and a half hours straight after rehearsing about an hour and a half earlier. We didn't intend to do that, but that's how it played out. It was at "Our House", a homeless shelter that helps families get back on their feet with housing and job training. Good charity to support.

One of the inhabitants came up and said I looked like Bing Crosby and wanted to know if I was related. I didn't ask him if he thought I looked like him when he was alive, or after. That was pretty funny. Did perform White Christmas later. We did a few songs for the young children like "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". Sad that people don't have a home, but at least these people are being fed and housed until they hopefully get back on their feet. Our Temple provided the dinner for them last night. I think a different church provides the meal for them every day.
Anyway, it was a nice experience and makes you feel good to do something for someone else once in awhile. And I have to admit. I was pretty awesome. JUST KIDDING!04-cheers
That's awesome that you spent time at our house. That is a good organization.

Our Temple feeds them on a regular basis, once a month. Other churches
also do the same. My wife, and sometimes my grandson usually goes down and helps cook the meal and serve it. It is a great organization. I think my wife's cousin, who is now deceased, was one of the founders years ago.04-cheers

It's great that you take the time to do this. I know they really appreciate it and you should be proud of yourself! Have a Happy New Year!

I guess if you're blessed with a little talent of some kind, you should be willing to share it with others. I don't deserve any special praise. Just doing something I enjoy that hopefully some others enjoy. But thanks, and a Happy New Year to all of your family.04-cheers

I tried to find it on the website but wasn't there. I called Channel 7 and the person said he'd try and get it on there this afternoon. If you hadn't posted this I would have had no idea it had been on. Thanks.04-cheers

Since we don't know if you looked like Bing Crosby after he was dead or when he was alive, did you sound like Gene Autry singing Rudolph?

An interesting bit of trivia about Gene and Rudolph. In the book Public Cowboy #1, The Life and Times of Gene Autry, it mentioned that Gene did not want to record Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer, because he thought it would look and sound silly for a cowboy hero to be singing about a red nosed reindeer. His wife talked him into recording it, and the rest is history, because it became his biggest selling record.
