So, I'm ridiculously early for the game, as in standing outside the doors before they're open early.

I spy through the windows Coach Haase striding past on the concourse. He then does something I've been doing for years.

He veers right and touches Coach Bartow's hand on his way by.
After the game, Foz wasn't really paying attention to where he was going for a minute and was headed straight to the locker room while the rest of the team headed to the student section. Coach was standing near the tunnel and pointed him back to the student section with the rest of his team. I turned to my sister and said "I really like this coach". He seems very personable and like he really wants to involve the fans and get them invested in this program.
We have a fantastic person for a basketball coach. I hope we keep him for a long time.
Yep to all of the above.

And I don't think he wants to continue to coach in front of only 3,000 fans.
This guy seems to be the total package. The thing I like most about him is his absolute desire to win. When they do a close up of him in televised games you can see it in his eyes. Some coaches hate to lose and can be difficult to play for but when you have a coach that loves to win, you want to win with and for them.

The difference between him and the last two coaches:

- UAB is his first option not his last/both were unemployed when UAB hired them.

- CJH appears to embrace UAB, it's history , and sells it it with passion

- He states what he wants to accomplish at UAB, others simply stated what they wanted to accomplish.

- I believe he is the type of guy that wants to build a program from the court to stands and if he leaves, he leaves a sustainable program behind.

- UAB will have to SHOW HIM THE MONEY!!!

Sunday and Wednesday games hurt especially in the south.

I always find it hard to believe that Birmingham is such a godly city that you can't fill an 8500 arena with the unchurched.

Coaching rule #175 - When protesting a call, remove eyewear first. You never know what mid-major insurance will cover.
I've had my doubts, but he's winning me over.
I think he believes UAB is a very good job. A place you can win at until you get THE JOB. I get the impression he is at UAB until a top program comes calling.
Until we change conferences and start paying comparable salaries, that is a safe assumption
I love this guy as a HC. Like others have mentioned, we will need to pay him well. Hopefully, we can keep him for a while. He is going to build something special here. I hope the crowds get better over time. Unlike some others, this guy promotes the heck out of the program..............always willing, and happily does segments with the media. He treats everybody with respect too.

Considering most of this (and last) year's crowds, 3,000 would be a nice change.

And the Sunday/Wednesday excuse is for losers. There are plenty of church goers who don't go to Sunday and Wednesday night services.

I've been saying for a year now that Bartow Arena is too large for UAB basketball, especially now in the latest edition of C-USA.
Ridiculous.

Wow! I LOVE that!!!

That is my pre and post game ritual. I always get a little bump or touch "the finger" when entering and exiting. Always.

This is what worries me the most. This and our declining conference affiliation.
