About a week away, why not start the prognosticating? We need a new thread anyways.

Huskies 34
USU 24

Beat Utah State.
Me thinks this is going to be like the Fresno game was. A nice reminder to everyone that this team is damn, damn good.

Great thread.
Hope that Jordan Lynch makes this one for the books and the secondary can cover
better then they did against BGSU.
NIU wins by greater then the spread.
I know I'm gun shy after what hapened in the MACC. Our offense will perform better but will it be enough? Will the TEs, RBs, and other receivers be running freely uncovered all night? Or will the Huskies show that the MACC was an aberration.
Heart says NIU 51, Utah State 44
Head says Utah State 44, NIU 41

If there was ever a game this year in which we need out O Line to have a big game it's this game. O Line shows up and gives Jordan time, we should be good. Equally important with out being said is the D, we need a solid game out of them.
i think the pressure got to the Huskies in Detroit. good thing this game is that there is no pressure. Lynch and Co are going to have some fun and try and go out on a high note.

I'm not sure what to expect. Part of me thinks it will be like the Fresno game in 2010 and part of me thinks the team doesn't care.

However, Lynch is 19-1 against FBS non-AQ teams. I don't see back-to-back losses.

I do think it ends up being an excellent game. Utah State again has a good defense, but like every game NIU has played, they have to beat themselves, the Defense won't stop them.

It's obvious to everyone that an opposing defense needs to focus on stopping, or at least limiting, JL's ability to run. Few teams we've played had good enough defenses to do that without leaving gaping holes in their coverage. BG was a notable exception.

If the USU defense is similar to BG's then we will have a difficult game on our hands. It will be up to our D to get 3 and outs and get off the field. We know how well that has gone. I see this game being very similar to the MACC. The question is can our coaches adjust the game plan to prevent a similar result?

Man I would just be shocked and amazed if another team can stop Lynch like BG did. I think USU will do a good job, but Lynch will get his, question is, will it be enough to make up the difference that the D gives up? My hunch says yes, the D will play better, if they don't, then it points to the coaches preparing the Huskies for this game. I would not be surprised if we see surprise onside kicks, fake punts, and going for it on 4th down. I am really excited to see who is playing that has been banged up lately. I really how SeaBass plays, we will need him. Please God let our D show up and play hard and well, and the O line needs to protect and blow the D Line up.
Merry Christmas everyone...
I don't know how to explain this...

BG DID NOT STOP LYNCH. They sort of limited him.

He threw for over 200+ yards and rushed for 125+. He had just under 350 total yards. That's right around his average and hardly stopping him.

He didn't play well personally. He wasn't be harassed in the pocket and the DBs weren't making exceptional plays. He just missed throws. Even with his performance being average for him, the defense lost that game.

He had like 5 yards per carry and 10 yards a completion.

OK, I AM SORRY. I now hope the D shows up. Better? Lynch would tell you personally that he did not have a good game, a lot of missed throws.

Didn't mean to sound like a dick, but I've seen a lot of people say the BG defense is why NIU lost. That isn't the case.

Lynch did miss a lot of throws, he's gotta do better there. But NIU almost had 500 yards of offense and Lynch had most of it. I just think there's a misperception that BG had the magic recipe to stop NIU on offense, they don't. They just played better offense.
Lynch seems to miss TLL by about 3 inches. He's a small target. Having watched the MACC again I think Lynch's throws weren't as bad as I thought when watching the game in person.

NIU only put up 20 points in the game, the last TD was garbage time. I think our O played below, well below their norm.

If our D shows up and covers receivers we will win the game. The offense will be motivated and has the talent to score early and often.

NIU 41

If the D cannot cover receivers we could lose again which would be a dissapointing end to the season. Let's see if the coaching staff can motivate the team.

USU 21

NIU offense is contained but Utah State's issues on offense continue.
