Talked to some national guys afterward, including @GoodmanESPN, and I think general feeling is Memphis earned some serious respect tonight.

Leave you doubters with that. Good night all.
It was a good game, but

"Everyone wants to be remembered as a winner, the only way to do that is.....to win" Michael Jordan.

Did he say that in relation to basketball or his gambling addiction? Maybe he was referring to being unable to beat out Wilt the Stilt's groupie count. That's the kind of Michael quote I pause to think about because of how much his winning has overshadowed the fact that he's a complete and total *******. With that, I guess he's got a point in regards to how important winning is.

And we got plenty of opportunity to do that the rest of the season with some big games coming just around the corner. Wish we had the win but this loss doesn't mean it's over or that we can't be winners in the end
Donovan on Joe: "Totally different player today than he was as a Sophmore. That kid is a helluva player. He almost singlehandedly won the game."

Did he say that in relation to his time as a player; owner; GM?

So sad that the season ended tonight. Maybe we'll do better next year.
There are a handful of legit teams this year and Memphis is one of them.

Btiger must be feeling some pain with that easy money.

Who is Jason Smith? Memphis earned some serious respect among some national guys against our W against #5 OSU re-match on a neutral court in Orlando, FL.

May God show mercy on Memphis basketball if earning respect among some national guys is the goal.

A win is needed because that is what helps Memphis rpi and our seed in the NCAA tournament.

Actually, a loss to another high RPI team usually helps the RPI, if you understand the formula.

The hate is strong with this one...
Pomeroy had us at #16 on Sunday; we are #16 this morning.

I am convinced that Florida is a final four team when Chris Walker becomes eligible.

This could be very true. Fla. will def get alot better. As will Ky. and No. Car. AND I'm sure a few others out there.
This is why it is an essential necessity for Pastner to find plenty of playing time somewhere for Iverson, King, and Woodson.
These guys MUST be ready to step in like vets come tourney time; or we could be left at sweet 16 or even a 32 exit.
He is going with who he trusts to make the right plays to help us win games and right now it looks like thats the 5 starters plus Dixon and Pellom. I dont expect anyone else to see much time unless we are blowing somebody out. It was a shame we didnt play better in the first half of the UALR game, that was one where we should have been able to get the young guys some minutes. It looks like he wants to play King but he has him on a very short leash, I hope it doesnt kill his confidence getting yanked after every mistake but in a game like last night one mistake could be the difference in winning or losing so you can't really blam Josh for pulling him. I hope the young guys can stay focused and bought in and realize their time is comming but it may not be till next season.
In a huge game on the road you just don't have the luxury of getting kids in for development.

I am not sure some of those teams will be better. Kentucky is at the stage where Cal is blasting them in public like last year's bunch, lol. Giving them that "Do it my way" speech. They look like another talented group playing for a contract/draft spot and not to win a ring.

We have 4 more games and 3 full weeks of practice to work out the kinks before Louisville. I don't expect USF or Cincy to give us too much resistance. Unless the players look ahead (which is possible), Cincy should be the perfect opponent before Louisville.
