Were ready to announce Clemson offense coordinater, Chad Morris, as their new coach. Hit a snag at the last second. Now Morris is denying he even talked to ASU. Sounds like they are going after some heavy hitters since they see the opportunity to chip away at UAF's dominance in the State. Never would have said this before, but there is little doubt they had the best football team in the State the past 2 years. While hog fans will point to ULL, I think there is little doubt that was the hogs best game of the year until they went to Baton Rouge.

I think there is a lot of doubt that they had the best team in the state the past two years. I will admit, at least last year, they had the best coach in the state. Of course there's no way to prove either position, but I don't think ASU is in the same class as the Hogs, even as bad as their record is the past two seasons. But I think it's stupid they won't play ASU. That 100 year old policy has to change. Only happen when legislature has the guts to make it happen. That's what happened in other states. Sad that the little boys in Fayetteville won't share their marbles with the other children!04-cheers

Don't know that ASU rules. But, from what I recall they played Missouri and Auburn (the 2 teams who played for the SEC championship) pretty well. Until the LSU game, the hogs weren't even competitive against SEC competition. Obviously, the hogs have a ton more talent if you go by recruiting rankings- but you still have to play the game (if UAF would play it).

Morris was not supposed to get out. However, our hope for him is not dead. He wants lots of money...and we have to go seduce boosters to give us that cash. He also wants more money for assistants...and we offer a lot for that already.

If we can come up with that...he's ours. if we cant...we probably go after Blake Anderson at UNC, who I think is our backup plan.

Realistically, we're facing the same contract issues we did with Gus. Gus came here pretty much despite what his agent wanted.

Of course that didn't stop the dem gaz from writing an entire article on Morris turning us down, while writing a glowing review of Tim Horton for the UCA job. Oy.

4. We should all work together to dethrone the evil empire that is the Arkansas Razorbacks, and then take their carcass and throw it off the highest cliff and wish them a thousand plagues of locusts, frogs, and whatever we can come up with.

5. UALR still needs a new coach.

Has anyone watched the TV show "Almost Human". If a coach were genetically engineered, you could just send him in for a reboot, and wouldn't have to ever worry about hiring a new coach. Be a lot cheaper in the long run. Just program him like you want him, and send him back out, newer and better.04-cheers

Was that in the paper? I work with a big ASU fan who I thought was giving me "inside" information.

HAHAHA. He got it off our message board. Like most fans do. Unfortunately half the rumors that get posted on our board are made up just to drive people crazy.
