so I went to ESPN3 and watched it today. Some observations. Will, Josh and D'Vonte are the real deal. James White is not a natural shooter. He needs to be selective in his shots. Leroy plays out of control at times. He tries to get to the basket and ends up being up stuffed by the trees. This was not one of his best games. Some of you aren't as high on Kemy as I am, but he has the ability to score inside and out, rebound, and can play decent defense. Gus is a role player who can take up some space and rebound some, but not much of an offensive threat, and due to slow feet, tends to get in foul trouble, but plays hard and gives you everything he has.
Other than that, nobody showed me enough to even evaluate. Bench is going to have to step up if we are to have a chance of being among the elite in our league. Our first four or five guys can't carry the load by themselves the entire season. That's why we fold in the second half. Fatigue sets in because our back ups aren't reliable enough to give the starters decent rest. We desperately need another effective inside player.
We thought that was going to be our strength this year, and it turned out to be our weakness. We need Poulter to get healthy so we can see what he can do. I'm not expecting much, but you can't coach 6'11". He could alter shots by just standing around inside the paint. J.T Thomas, at full strength, could help by giving D'Vonte some rest. By the way, D'Vonte is our point guard. I'm convinced. He makes great passing decisions to set up scorers. He's one of few point guards we've had that can do that. And he can get to the basket and score, and is a fairly decent outside shooter. He could be our Josh White. I'm anxious to see the next games.04-cheers
