Blazer Fans,

I want to take the opportunity to thank you again for your investment in the Blazer Rebounders men’s basketball support group last season. We hope you are enjoying the start of the 2013-14 season, and UAB Athletics would like to give you the chance to continue your support of the Blazers on the road. A road trip to Middle Tennessee is confirmed on Saturday, January 11th as the Blazers take on the Blue Raiders of MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. A 55-passenger bus will be departing Bartow Arena promptly at Noon and traveling to MTSU for the game which tips off at 5 PM. The bus will return to Birmingham immediately after the conclusion of the game. Coolers are allowed on the bus, and we will stop at Slick Pig BBQ in Murfreesboro to enjoy a late lunch.

Please see a summary of the trip details below:

- Game at MTSU is Saturday, January 11th at 5 PM
- Cost is $49/person which includes roundtrip transportation and a lower bowl ticket in the UAB section (price does not include lunch at Slick Pig)

- Deadline to purchase a spot is Monday, January 6th

We are driving because I am closer to MTSU but I encourage folks to take the bus. It is a blast. Paul K is great and the bus riders are a lot of fun to hang out with.

Directions I-65 N

• I-65 take exit 59A toward TN-840 E/Murfreesboro/Knoxville
Keep right at the fork and merge onto TN-840 E (go 21.7 mi)
• Take exit 53A for Interstate 24 E toward Chattanooga (go 6.3 mi)
• Take exit 81B for US-231 N toward Murfreesboro. Turn right onto US-231 N/S Church St/US-231 Scenic N (go 1.1 mi)
• Turn right onto Middle Tennessee Blvd (go 2.0 mi)
• Turn right onto E Main St (Destination will be on the right)

Slick Pig is less than 1.5 miles from the arena.

I just got on the bus, forgot to ask how many spots were left but assume dozen or less based on blazerjay's post. The seats are in section J if on the bus so I'll be there or in my extra spot of M one of which I'll pass along to whatever blazer may want it

I'm driving, because Birmingham is really out of the way for Memphis to Murfreesboro.

Bus is sold out. They are attempting to take a 2nd bus and chances look good it will happen. Ticket office will take your name and number and notify you by Monday, Jan 6th if the 2nd bus is a go.

This is great news. Fill it up!

Update: Less than 10 spots left until we are able to order the 2nd bus. We have almost 80 total on this trip and it would be much better to split 40 folks on each 55 passenger bus than having the 55 cram into 1 bus.

Great news. This will be fun. Like the USM trips except a better arena.

Can't wait to go! It has been a minute since I been on a road trip for basketball. Last time was USM when Purifoy hit that three to win the game. Didn't we meet Mr. Humphries that game AB?
