ASU's third football coach in three years has bolted, and for the third year in a row, ASU plays in a bowl game without it's head coach. That in itself is not good of course, but in my mind that's good for the program overall. Other good young coaches will see ASU as a good place to work and possibly move on up quickly to a bigger and better job.

In fact, I heard Governor Beebe on the 5 o'clock news say basically that, that while he hated to see Harsin leave, but that the school has a reputation for hiring good coaches and that will help in the hiring process this time, and that people didn't come after coaches unless they were good.

I wouldn't care if we changed coaches every few years if we could get good coaches who could get this program righted, and on the move.

Didn't they claim Rome burned while Nero fiddled? While they're fiddling, or maybe fiddle farting around at UALR, the men's basketball program is going no where, spinning it's wheels. Oh well, who really gives a ****?
The good thing is they had that 1.5 million buyout. That was smart and they can use that money to pay the next coach.
No joke. we've pretty much announced that the next coach will make a million dollars or more yearly. From what we've been told, at least four well known coaches who wouldn't even give us the time of day last year have called to apply this year.

Having Mike Beebe as Governor has helped tremendously. He's probably the most involved person in the coaching search outside of our AD, President, and Chancellor. He's personally called coaches on our behalf to encourage them to come here. Every little bit helps.

I was trying to remember what he said on the interview on TV, and did not "quote" him, and I apologize to him. Here's what he said, "it's a much better problem to have than a coach that nobody wants."

"Amen to beans". Don't ask me to explain. I've just heard Randy Rainwater use that term and I always liked it.04-cheers
