The Heart of Dallas Bowl between North Texas and UNLV is picked as the worst bowl.

Interesting but I believe the Bowl WKU is in is rated the worst. There's no parade, no tailgating, no TV, no fans, etc. 04-cheers In fact, it might be a tie between WKU's Bowl and the bowls USA, Troy, ULM, and Texas State are playing in. On a positive note, there are no refs either.

Oh wow. The outrage compared to the highly ranked SBC bowls. Pointless thread.
I know we didn't deserve it but I still believe a TXST/UNT match-up in that Bowl would have been better from a monetary/attendance standpoint. I just don't see UNLV traveling very well to this.

The average North Texas fan would have screamed bloody murder, but you're right, that matchup would have drawn a lot more fans and interest.

The Browning-less ULM loss at home sure does loom large.01-lauramac2
A throwaway bowl with two crappy teams who have crappy programs and crappy fanbases. It is the only bowl game that will be on ESPN U and for good reason. A lot of people don't have ESPNU and therefore won't be exposed to this crapfest.

Even if Texas State was playing UNT, it would still be the lowest rated bowl game thrown away on ESPNU.

Not the point I was making but, whatever.

And if you recall, I believe our 2 away games at UH gave you some good numbers. And don't say it was all UH fans either. We travel very well in state.

You'll find anything to 05-stirthepot when you can; if TXST is mentioned.

Does my memory fail me or did TxState not beat Cougar High?03-lmfao

ESPN and ESPN2 are both in just under 100 million homes, ESPNU is in 75 million, a decent drop off I'll grant you, but 75% of people who get ESPN also get ESPNU, this isn't the days of ESPNU being hard to find.

No brainer & better matchup. a #74 7-5 MWC team or a 6-6 #93 Belt team. Continue with your rants.
Shouldn't this be on the CUSA board? Mods?

This has some Sun Belt relation to it.

CatMom was speaking from an attendance standpoint therefore rankings have nothing to do with it. And a UNT-TxSt would draw much better than what a UNT-UNLV matchup will bring.
If you are talking competitiveness, an 8-4 WKU ranked #56 in the USA Today rankings would be a better matchup than a #67 7-5 MWC team.02-13-banana
Lets merge the two messageboards! Saves time and trouble .Maybe the conferences would follow suit.J/K.

It is a better match-up because like you mentioned the rankings show it.

CatMom was merely noting that she believes attendance would have been better if it was us.

Of course I know the capital of Kansas is Topeka. What do you take me for?

I expect the Belt will get a team in HOD occasionally. B1G/B12 won't qualify all the time.

Not foolish enough to live in Kansas?

That is questionable. Other than Texas State folks, wouldn't be much interest.
