Confirmed by the bowl.
its basically gonna be syracuse or rutgers every year
Makes me want to pule. Rutgers is going to get just wrecked by a mediocre Notes Dame team. This is a very poorly coached 6-6 team that should be nowhere near postseason play. I just hope Flood still ends up fired.

Cuse to Pinstripe this year would've been bad...Cuse has about 30k tickets sold for a Villanova BB game the same day. Glad Ruttie got the bowl.

You guys could always have declined and let us play.
The best matchup would have been UC vs ND. Two pretty good teams with great storylines for the bowl would have made for great TV. As it is, will still be a great setup for ND.
This is the kind of bowl invitation that Notre Dame used to turn down.

One year thing due to realignment...next year they are under the ACC basket of bowls.

One year thing due to realignment...next year they will be screwing a real ACC school out of a better bowl.

Actually I think ND wants to play in this game simply because its in New York. They did sign a side deal at the beginning of this cycle to replace a Big 12 school in this if no Big 12 school was available and ND was eligible but not in a BCS game. Anywhere else they'd poo poo playing in a baseball stadium.

Canewton I'd love to have seen them decline but that's the reality.

Doubtful. But I can't wait to hear the whining when you kick UNC out of Charlotte to Detroit.

Rutgers doesn't have 4 million to buy out Flood and his staff. Rutgers does not want any more negative press either. Also Rutgers has all of its cash tied up in the previous chaos with the BB coach and the AD.

Great for Rutgers - Think I'll go on line and get my tickets as soon as they are available to the public.

Yep.

And Houston-UNC at the Belk would have been a good matchup. Fedora coached Southern Miss to the 2011 upset of Houston.

That's why they are half in the ACC.

If we don't have $4 Million (and its actually like $3.5 million) to can these morons who are destroying the foundation of the program rather than building it, then we shouldn't be entering the Big Ten period.
