Stole this from the main MAC board, talk about variance...

MAC
1.05M ESPN2 11/20 NIU v Toledo
1.04M ESPN2 11/13 Ball State v NIU
592K ESPN2 11/6 CMU v Ball State
559K ESPN2 11/5 Ohio v Buffalo
435K ESPN2 11/19 Kent State v Ohio
182K ESPNU 11/12 Buffalo v Toledo
167K ESPNU 11/5 BGSU v Miami
147K ESPNU 11/13 Miami v Kent State
130K ESPNU 11/19 Buffalo v Miami

CUSA
181K FS1 9/5 FAU v ECU
155K FS1 11/14 Marshall v Tulsa
124K FS1 9/12 Tulane v LaTech
108K FS1 10/31 Rice v N Texas
91K FS1 10/24 Marshall v MTSU
79K FS1 11/21 Rice v UAB

Total viewership
MAC- 4,302,000
CUSA- 738,000

The MAC played 73 home games, if you count those viewers the same as ticket holders that would be the equivalent of increasing the average attendance of every MAC home game by 58,932.
The power of ESPN.
I am really interested to see the NIU/WMU numbers. You know that most people watching weren't watching for WMU.
CUSA is awful. Hahahah to Marshall
Crazy to think UCF and Houston was in that muck just last year!
Any possibility of turning these higher numbers into Dollars for the MAC?
Why does Conf. USA have better Bowl tie ins then the MAC if the MAC gets a much higher viewership??

After the Big10 makes it harder to schedule games with the MAC we will need an alternative source of revenue?

NonAQ Television station?
Games against the SEC ??
Even more interesting - and probably more comparable since they are on the ESPN family of channels (except one or two), is how well we compared to these games, and what's even more interesting - some of these were SATURDAY games!!!

This is the type of stuff we need to show a big conference the great potential we have to be pull in big market!

Maybe we get bad MAC bowl tie ins because of bad MAC leadership?
Keep in mind that a major factor in the tv numbers is just being on espn. This CCSA numbers are a warning of the dangers of seeing the newer sports nets as a real alternative.

I have no idea where to find FS1 on my cable package but can find ESPNU easily.
