Cheer probably isn't a good word, I don't think many around here actively root for either team. I would say that a lot of MAC fans cheer for one of the teams to lose, someone just happens to walk away with a win. As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

As I type this, it's 14-7 Wolverines.
The better question would be: Who do you root AGAINST? My answer would be 0$U.
OSU!!!

I'm a Clevelander, and back when the old Browns left town, I figured I was a football free agent could get married to another football team. OSU was my choice back then, and have been great to root for.

It was kind of like a marriage. I liked the Browns in the 70's and 80's, and would have followed them forever. Like a marriage, there were good times, so I could stick through the bad times. Then they left me. I picked a new team, the most entertaining team in my state, even though I hadn't gone there.

When the Browns came back, it was something like '...yeah, they look the same as the last Browns, but they're not good, and won't make a big effort to be good, and you haven't been through the good times with these Browns, but you're supposed to root for them anyway' - but they have to have some good times before I'm back.

Having the Buckeyes is like having a second wife that does all the good stuff, so I could keep my alma mater/first wife, who doesn't perform so good.
Gotta love 0$U making themselves look like fools!! 02-13-banana
The game officials. :)
Clevelanders that root for OSU are no better than Clevelanders that root for the Steelers.

Quite exactly true ~ although I cannot understand rooting for those dirty rotten scumbag Steelers, since people can root for who they want to, there's nothing wrong with either.
Right now I'm rooting against Florida State. A FSU lose would hurt Winston in the heisman
Neither. Both fan bases are insufferable and filled with people that never set foot in one of their classrooms. I don't begrudge those that went to school there.
I just want the SEC to not win the championship again this year. OSU and FSU are the only teams that seem to be able to do it this year. Both fan bases are insufferable in their respective states.

Exactly. I was a Buckeyes fan by the time I was in Junior High ~ especially since my mom went to OSU, first at the Newark branch and then on the main campus, and when she was going to OSU at the main campus we got to go to some of the games, and watch Archie Griffin break through the line and romp through the secondary and Dwight Hudson, who had wowed crowds in HS as drum major of Licking Heights in the Licking County League, leading the band as drum major.

And of course, every school in the LCL used the Ohio State fight song as our fight song, except Newark Catholic (who, I believe, used the Fighting Irish fight song).

So I'm one of those unsufferable Central Ohio Buckeye fans who never set foot in one of their classrooms.

Of course, I never went to Kent State, except teaching a class there when their econ department was short on semester, so I guess I'm also one of those insufferable Portage Country / Eastern Summit County Golden Flashes fans who never went to school there. Go Flashes!
O$U pulls it out 42-41.
Well that sucked.
Even if it didn't work, Hoke made the right call. Their kicker sucks and they couldn't stop OSU's running game, they would've lost in OT unless they got a turnover.
ZSU. I dont root against them unless they are playing against a MAC team or ASU.

Couldn't agree more. Love it when they both lose
Don't care.
When's the game?

12 April, 2014, right before the spring football game.

Unless you mean FB, I think that's sometime shortly after Turkey day.
What is this game you speak of? I don't watch
