Personally I think the league should come down extremely hard on Tomlin...and the Steelers. $100,000 fine for Tomlin and another $250,000 on the Steelers.
I think they fined Bill Belichick $500k when he got caught cheating (the same year he won coach of the year honor if you can believe that) but what Belichick did was planned ahead and not spontaneous, so I think Question's fine is fair.

I read a headline that Kidd got fined for $50K for something. Is Tomlin's offense worse?
I can't specifically recall which club was fined but I'm almost sure it happened in a similar manner, that is, coach got a fine and club got a much higher fine. So yes there is a precedent. It may have been the Belichek/Patriots.

Yes, because Tomlin jeopardized player safety. Kidd just used a stall tactic.
jeopardizing player safety? He was standing on the edge of the sideline and then jumped out of the way. It was no doubt intentional, but saying that was jeopardized player safety is like saying throwing a pass across the middle is jeopardizing the receiver's safety. If anything tomlin was jeopardizing his own safety

Maybe you should try running full speed into a 200+ pound object that's sitting still and see if that changes your opinion. That's what Tomlin risked. Jones didn't know he was going to move though, and had to suddenly change direction. Ligaments have been torn by much less. Who cares about Tomlin's risk to himself? Even if he had been hurt, he could have been coaching again next week. Jones' career could have been put at risk by Tomlin though.
