I've been somewhat watching this ever since they went after Daniel Moore - a UA alum - on his portraits a few years ago. I'm a fan of the school (I was born in the state and have been back for 20+ years), but this is really the ugly side of big-time successful college athletics. I find it interesting that Battle, the AD, was a big dog at CLC back in the day. Makes one wonder....
I think the local bakeries do have to seek permission from University of Memphis or CLC before making products with the logos on them. But I don't think you can prevent every bakery from doing it. Probably the only way the school or CLC find out that a bakery is using its logo is if someone at a function like a wedding or a customer of a bakery tells the school or CLC that they saw the logo on a cake, cookie, etc.

i thought it was interesting because of what happened with the site years ago. dad knew battle's dad and speaks highly of him and says they are good people so maybe its just a precedent thing. good luck if you are going to the game tomorrow, its gonna be a freaking spectacle. i am going out to the farm on the other side of opelika and getting the hell outa town. bunch of my family is going, but i think i am just too gettin too old and grumpy to go and dont really give a crap who wins. bama by 20+ is my prediction though.
wasn't Bill Battle a head coach at 10c way back when, like maybe in the 70's.

vols got frustrated with majors at first and printed bumper stickers that said "bill battle come home we made a MAJOR mistake"

Not even gonna' try to go to that game tomorrow. I'm like you - I don't care too much for the crowded atmosphere at the games now days. Went to watch them roll UT this year and that will hold me for a while. We get together in the neighborhood and watch with friends. I like your prediction though.
