Ready to see our young team go out on the floor with some guts and fire. I won't call win or lose, just that we improve. We believe!
I expect another loss against a solid opponent with a stout defense, but it will be a good learning experience. If Saint Louis goes cold with the outside shots and we manage to avoid too many fouls, we've got a chance.
Those guys from St Louis are SOLID.

if we only had the Monarch team from a few years ago.... we ate A10 teams for breakfast that year. including the X!

Not going to call it a loss either, but they do use 2 guys who are 6'11. Better get Anton ready.

As long as Ross, Ebondo, and Taylor stay out of foul trouble, Anton will rarely see the floor (if at all). He only saw 5 minutes tonight, yet he was highly successful in allowing them to get easy baskets.

I know, it was tongue in cheek. Any comment about Larsen usually is. The WVU guards amounted to 60% of the scoring against us. Their 6'll forward Rob Loe was their leading scorer against Wisconsin.
actually if we hit some of our open looks and avoid going to the line at all costs we have a chance.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer again, but I think we're in line for another 20-point loss. Need A LOT of things to go our way to have a chance tonight. Of course, anything could happen...just not holding my breath. Our big "breakout" game, ala UVA last year, is likely to be a new conference foe like Southern Miss or Charlotte.

Actually, beating Charlotte would be HUGE. They're a damn good team this year.
I actually think St. Louis is a more beatable opponent than WVU. That isn't to say a win shouldn't be considered an upset.

St. Louis is a very good defensive team. St. Louis is shooting 75% from the line as a team.

ODU has to do better from the FT line and behind the arc to have any chance.
We'll have to hit our shots, including on the Bacote and Palmore drives that have been successful all season, but were rimming out last night. We also probably need to get hot early and build a lead and "hang on".

I respectfully disagree. I think St. Louis is much better than WVU, and as a result they are inherently less beatable. But then again, I guess it's all about how you see the matchup(s) going.

You're absolutely correct in your second line, though. Regardless of who we play, it doesn't excuse missing free throws. No defense in the world can guard them, so we need to take advantage of them.
Fair enough.

I was writing in terms of match-ups as Saint Louis doesn't have the size of WVU or WVU's production from the 3 pt line.
Don't know a whole lot about the Monarchs, but it seems you guys have some knowledge of Saint Louis.

SLU is trying to get the offense going, so we're relying a lot on our defense.
ODU Bleed Blue says that St. Louis is a 14.5 favorite tonight
Uh oh boys... we got a screamer (SLU female fan in the audience)

Welcome! I'll break it down easy for you! Last year, 5 wins, this year, 4!
Where the f is the offense? Did we bring back Blaine?
