Why is someone whose birth certificate is an apology from the condom factory even allowed on here at all?

At least Rick clearly identifies himself as the Enemy in his "I Root For" designator... I admire that. He's got balls. not like some of the insurgent VT fans on this board.

I was just trying to pass on some information. If anyone wants to come to the game it is Sold Out. Even the Standing Room Only tickets. But at last check there were around 150 tickets on Stubhub. Don't know if anyone wants to pay those prices.

I've tried be the...Kinder, more gentle Rick. Don't think posting information about getting tickets is that far out there.

Just checked the Top 25 polls... VCU dropped from #10 to off the chart in the AP Poll. I'm not sure I've seen a precipitous fall from grace as bad as this... wow.

That was quick, VCU!

Well, most knowledgeable fans knew that the #10 was way over the top this early in the year. We have 6 returning players from last year and 8 new guys, if you include the walk on. Hard to see how anyone could think even a Rock Star coach like Shaka could pull it together that fast!

When I saw San Juan on the schedule I groaned. We have historically finished 1-2 in these tournaments. Cancun, San Juan, Atlantis, etc. never seem to treat us well.

But Shaka always has a way of pulling it together quickly after November. Last year after Atlantis (1-2) we won 13 in a row.

I guess the people voting in the polls are looking at potential. I don't see us in the Top 10. Top 20, maybe...but not the Top 10 this year.

And next year we will have the same problem. Lots of good players coming in (Top 20 recruiting class according to most experts), but you still have to get those guy integrated into the system.

Back on Subject- Still tickets over at Stubhub. I wonder if anyone is actually paying that much? Standing Room Only for $65? Baseline to Free throw line for $230? Man, I remember the days of 800 at the Dump. Now they are cutting off the students at 1800.

Come if you can. Never a sure thing when these two teams get together. Should be fun, either way.

Smart's biggest problem is how do i win now that i can't consitently foul the other team. It will be interesting to see how things will be called by the zebra's at the Broad Street Gym.

That has not bee a problem so far. Steals are about the same as last year and fouls have been about even in each game. Plus, we are really deep. I don't think anyone has fouled out yet this year.

All you have to do is back off a little, and with the quickness of the type of players he recruits, being a little bit farther away actually gives you a better shots at the passing lanes. And if you watch the press, watch how while one player in engaged with the ball handler, another is coming up from the blindside and the guy with the balls turns right into him. Seen a couple offensive charges already this way.

Everyone will adjust, and the networks are already complaining about 2 hour 45 minute games because of the fouls.

VCU's problem is the same as it always is early- We Can't Shoot. But that is because they spend most of the early time teaching the defense. The shooting comes later. And it will.

You mean teaching the fouling. I agree you can't shoot right now but you are fouling at a higher rate than last year. Fouling will be a problem for vcu with the new rules. Another words a good free throw shooting team will be too much for you.
Here is what the VCU Superfan has to say about it. http://rushthecourt.net/2013/11/12/how-d...s-crowley/

First, the numbers just don't back up your point.

Last year fouls through 6 games- VCU- 106 Opponents- 104

This year fouls through 6 games- VCU- 108 Opponents- 108

So they are calling less than one additional foul per game per team, and the fouls are dead even this year. Advantage? Difference? I don't see one.

All coaches are going to cry. But again, look at the numbers. And Shaka is one of a group of coaches who are saying that if you want to get the "game flow" better, change the shot clock to 25 seconds. "Game Flow" was what this was supposed to be about. Some of the games I've seen (not just VCU's) were anything but "flowing".

I'll just leave quoting Pav as a basketball expert hanging out there...

I"ll leave it at Smart being your expert. Fair enough.
Can't shoot? They will shoot 65% when we play them.
I know its fun to poke fun at the Lambs, but the sky isn't falling. Shaka always starts slow. He seems to save legs and not really ramp up the full force of the press until the last half of the season. Come February watch out though.
