This will be the best measuring stick so far to see how good our MBB team really is. Hopefully we can keep it competitive and pull it out in the end. GO MONARCHS!
Does FIOS get the CBS Sports Network? I guess I will need to go to a bar to watch the game.

Channel 94 in RVA (non HD version), but I think you need to have the sports package or something. I don't get the network. :-(
CH 221 on DirecTV
We have benefited from possibly the weakest schedule since I have followed ODU. All four wins are against teams that have yet to win a game. If you compare scores, it looks like we are about a 15 point underdog in this one.
Murray State and Missouri State are pretty good teams. Murray has lost to Auburn and Valpo and beat 2 lower level schools.
Basketball has a lot to do with match ups. Someone said that WVU was more guard oriented like us and that would give us a slight advantage. Their post players are freshman.
Hey, I'm just thankful we are able to blowout bad teams. Last year we couldn't even beat them. In fact, I don't think this schedule is any weaker than last years and we were 1-4. I don't think anyone is claiming this is a postseason team or getting ahead of themselves at this point, but we are clearly moving in the right direction.
We didn't exactly play a group of world-beaters to start the 2012-13 season...

Holy Cross, Morgan State, UTSA, Cleveland State, and VMI put us at 1-4 with a team that was arguably better because we had Painter and Hill.

Top two scorers are guards harris,20 and staten, 19 points. Williams, a freshman, at 11 points 6'9" freshman. 4 of their freshmen are 6'9". Their big guys are young and so far their guards which are more experienced do the major scoring. Our big guys will probably have to stay our of foul trouble to win this one.
Chesapeake FIOS is listing the game on Channel 94!
I'm doing some research and they should kill us on paper. They remind me of the Baylor team in terms of size and skill. 6-10, 6-9 and 6-9 front line starters that can all can three's and their guards are their best players. Also bring two very explosive wing shooters off of the bench going 6-5 and 6-7.

No line yet but I would expect WVU -15.
Staten and Harris are without a doubt WVU's leaders on offense.

Despite being listed as 6-1, Staten seems to do all his damage inside the arc and he is a very good FT shooter. A good defender and passer (his a/t is 9.5!)
Harris has more range and a better outside shot. He is a good FT shooter as well.
Williams appears to be their most productive frosh thus far and at 6-9, 255 he will be a tough match-up.

It's going to be important to guard the perimeter because WVU scores a lot of points from beyond the arc.
Sounds like a nice test for the Killer Bs. I guess we'll find out if they are for real.

I like the fact that we have 6 guards to throw at these two main scorers but like we must defend them and not foul them all night.
This is a great opportunity to see where we are. We know size will be an issue all year for us, but I just want to see what we plan to do against that size.
"but we are clearly moving in the right direction"...............hope you still feel this way arond 10 pm tomorrow night!

Win or lose tomorrow night Bobby we are moving in the right direction. The glass does not always have to be half empty.
Looks like the spread has ODU as a 7 point underdog.

I believe ODU should attack the basket to try to get fouls on WVU's bigs. Bacote, Batten and Palmore all have this ability and if we hit our free throws ODU should be in good shape to pull the upset.

Also, I expect to see a bit more of Anton tomorrow night (for size purposes).
Will be interesting to see how Jones plays it when the team is at a severe talent/size disadvantage. Batten is the Xfactor IMO, when he gets hot (UVA last year) he can change the game completely
