... who goes to the GoDaddy Bowl, assuming ULL goes to New Orleans?

No way of knowing. Go Daddy can take whoever they like, and ASU will finish ahead of WKU in the league standings regardless what happens.

There is some question about whether or not the SBC will allow an outgoing team to get to Mobile. There is another question about whether or not Mobile would want ASU 3 years in a row.
How many fans has ASU sent to Mobile the last couple of years?
Right now 3 SBC teams should go bowling: Louisiana, Ark. St. and WKU. I am beginning to doubt Texas St. has a real shot.

8-10K at least. More than any one team has according to the Bowl reps.

About 10K roughly each season. We are really popular in the city of Mobile...question is what does that mean for the bowl itself?
FWIW a rep from a non-Sun Belt bowl visited with the GoDaddy director over the summer and inquired about how AState had done. The director said "I'll take them any time they win six. They fill the hotels and the restaurants love them."

As much as I hate to say it, TxState just doesn't deserve a bowl game, not yet IMHO. They squandered so many opportunities to lock one up too. Perhaps next year.

yes. they have had their chances to look good a cpl. times this season but muffed them. I watched that game yesterday. what a bumbling mess. any kind of good offensive effort and they could have won..I have liked wku the last cpl. years but they didnt look that good either. at one point txst had thrown 7 passes and completed 1 to one of their own guys and 4 to wku. and for such a big showdown game there should have been a big crowd, no matter what the weather..I think they can beat troy, but the bowl reps. have left the building.
If it's true that NIU may not be going to Mobile, then give that bowl to WKU to face another MAC opponent, as long as it's certain that A-State is getting the Independence Bowl. Doesn't sound like UL would mind playing in New Orleans again.

Hold the phone bud.. Lots and lots of things happening in Martin Hall right now.. negotiations all over the place.. HUD will more than likely have the final say so.. Lets see what happens in the Egg bowl Thursday night and revisit Friday morning..

Egg Bowl is irrelevant to Shreveport unless the SEC gets only one in the BCS and that's unlikely.

If NIU prefers playing a 5 loss Boise State then I think you can scratch the Cajuns from Mobile.

If Shreveport ends up being in play I think the factors become:
1. Opponent for New Orleans. If CUSA is sending MTSU or FAU or Marshall, Cajuns probably say meh and head north. If CUSA is sending Tulane or Rice the Cajuns will find it too tempting to face a school from the I-10 recruiting corridor.
2. Hud's future. If this is his year to cash in playing in New Orleans makes better sense. It's early enough in the cycle that he can finish out with the team. That becomes less likely the further out you go into bowl season. First rule of picking a bowl pool is pick against teams losing their coach.

The game between ASU and WKU isn't for 2nd place in the SBC.

WKU already has 3 conference losses, ASU has 1.

Even if WKU wins next Saturday, ASU is already #2 in the Sun Belt.

1.) Go Daddy is out for UL period without NIU.
2.) NO Bowl will not excite Hudspeth are Cajun fans if it is not Marshall, Rice or Tulane. FAU and MTSU are not sellers in Lafayette. But it may be the only sure invitation on the table Nov. 30th.
3.) The Independence Bowl needs to address several questions...Would the ACC accept a Sun Belt opponent?......what are the willing to compensate UL or ASU for that matter?....Will they be ready to extend in invitation by Nov. 30th.?
I agree if we don't get a Bowl it is an ok thing. As for the crowd? It was 17K+. It was cold, drizzling rain and windy. My God, what do you want? The wind chill was in the high 20's. Three days before it was 82. That's a hard blow to anyone's system to handle.

If you know about living with actual seasons, it takes a body 2 weeks to acclimate to seasonal changes.

I was actually surprised by the turnout.
Just wanted to add that this has been the worst season, weather wise, for our home games in my 10 years of going to games.

If 17k was there the stadium must holds 60k.....8k tops and no more than 2,000..if that at the start of the 2nd half. It was cold, with a biting wind and a misty rain and a good turnout for the conditions but no where close to 17k

Being 2nd in the SBC means NOTHING...well at least it didn't the past 2 seasons because the 2nd place school was left home without a bowl to go to.

I don't expect that to happen this year

the lack of other teams with 7 wins or more will help ASU and WKU out. We're clearly ahead of every other SBC team...

Last year MTSU finished in a massive tie for 2nd, and the year before that WKU team had to deal with an 0-4 OOC mark that kept their overall wins low.
