New Mexico is ranked 20th by KenPom.com. They are favored by 9 points according to the same site.

Steve Alford was New Mexico's coach from 2008-2013. Under his command, their records were as follows:
2008: 24-9
2009: 22-12
2010: 30-5
2011: 22-13
2012: 28-7
2013: 29-6

Their coach this year is Craig Neil, who came to New Mexico with Steve Alford.

Even though this year's team has only played two games, they have shot a ton of free throws (who hasn't?). Two players have already attempted 22 free throws each.

New Mexico's go-to guys are: Cameron Bairstow, Sr. 6-9, 250, and Cullen Neil, Fr. 6-4, 180. Bairstow is shooting just under 82% from 2-pt land (18-22), and blocks shots on defense. However, Alex Kirk, Jr. 7-0, 245, is the premier shot blocker on the team, and one of the top shot blockers in the country. Neil, the Coach's son, has shot the most 3's on the team so far, 3-7.

Kendall Williams, a 6-4 senior, has shot the lights out during the first two games. He is 20-22 from the free throw line, 4-4 from two-point land, and 3-4 from downtown. He is their best assist man and ball stealer.

Hugh Greenwood, Jr. 6-3, 205, has the 5th most minutes on the squad so far.

They only have two seniors, Bairstow and Williams.

KenPom.com projects New Mexico to finish 22-6 this season, and to win the MWC at 14-4. With UNC's loss to Belmont Sunday, this afternoon's game against New Mexico is now the highest ranked opponent, according to KenPom, on UAB's schedule this season.

As of today, the MWC has six teams ranked higher than UAB.
To quote UTEP fans: "New Mexico...not much better than the old one."

DII Cedarville only shot 3 against Tulane last night (1/3), compared to 14/20 for Tulane...who won by 10 points.03-lmfao

A good sign for us today is this game is on the Streak for the Cash and 90% are picking New Mexico by 10+. Normally, they put games on there that urge people to pick one way, but that is the wrong pick.
