Remember that video you gave me of the 1986 tournament games? Tweaky and I are watching Pitt and Lehigh tonight, and Lehigh has this big, broad-shouldered red-headed kid named Tim Kempton. I said to myself, he sure looks and sounds familiar. Sure enough, he is the son of the center for the ND 1986 team. Pretty fair ball player.

Pitt is pretty good. Talib Zanna is an underrated post player. He can do it all.

I haven't watched that tape in a couple of years, but now that I think about it, when you mentioned the kid being red headed, wasn't his dad red headed too? I didn't remember the name, but I sure seem to think I remember the big center as being red headed. It's hard to believe that those kids are now old enough to have kids playing college ball. But, it's going on 28 years now. I'd love to see what some of those players would look like now. I hope they're all fat like me. Thanks Pappy for the heads up on that. That's interesting. Wonder why he didn't go to Notre Dame?
He did not appear to be quite a good as his dad. The senior Kempton played 8 years in the NBA, they said.

I didn't realize his dad played in the NBA, but I don't watch much NBA ball anyway. May not have been a star in the league, but he probably had a good career and a good pension.

Pappy he looks like he's doing well for a 6'10" freshman that weighs 225#. The body kind of reminds me of the way Will looks. He's playing between 20 and 30 minutes a game, and scoring pretty well, but isn't a JJ on the board by any means. If he can put on some upper body weight and strength, he may be a hoss in the next three years.
That is exactly what the announcers said his coaches were saying about him. Needs to rebound better.

Incidentally, the senior Kempton played in 280 NBA games over 8 seasons. It appears he was mostly a role player. His best year was his second. He played in 79 games, averaged 6.1 ppg and 3.8 rpg. He also played in Italy and France.
