UT's Paul Helgren reporting that Coach Lauterbur passed away this evening. RIP.

Let's win one tonight.
Sad news. FXL put UT football in the national spot light. He was a proud member of the Rocket Nation. I wish he could have witnessed tonights beat down of NIwho.
Don't know if UT's had a tougher HC than FXL? Man I rememeber watching those practices as a kid.

Those were the days. Remember the hill where lot 10 is? The players hated running that hill.
Very sad day.
Back then the hill was known as Mt. Suribachi...Coach was a proud Marine...always admire his greatest trait, his loyalty to UT Athletics. He was a great mentor to all of our FB coaches. RIP Coach. Thanks for all you did for UT.
My dad has been saying for years that they should dedicate the field. It should be Frank X Lauterbur Field at the University of Toledo Glass Bowl. Would like to see the university do this, much like they did with the basketball court for Coach Bob Nichols.

Definitely a great idea to honor a UT coaching legend!!! Would much rather see that, then some corporate name on the field.
I don't understand this, naming every column and stairwell after somebody. Why not just name the stadium? He was good character guy and no one else is going to come along and win like that. A nice bronze statue with a plaque. Eh, not a big deal I suppose to name the field one thing and the stadium something else. Seems odd to me though.

Being a downer, I really thought their "moment of silence" laid an egg. I never have been impressed with recent Glassbowl announcer's abilities to command a crowd but he jumped into it so quickly... Halftime would have been a much better option, instead of before people were in the stadium and they would have had time to maybe at least put up a picture or a video on the board.
