I would be okay with either Hernol Hall or Adam H. at this point to finish off the class and add another big body for the rotations. Just my personal opinion, but I really don't want to add 2 more guys now that Thabeet passed so that we can have at least 3 scholarships for the 2007 class.
I'd sign Hall if you can get him, wouldn't sign Adam H.

If we can't get Hall, call it quits this year and start focusing on the 07 class.
I really feel that Hernol and Adam are both coming here. I think UC could use some depth in the post, and they would take both players, with their size and experience. I have stated, and continue to believe, that Mick will have at least 4 to work with, no matter what. Either grades, not enough playing time, etc, I really think Mick will make sure to have a decent number to give next year, and everything will work itself out in that regard. of course, things change, and he could end up adding either Adam or Hernol, or neither. Time will tell.
I've never been high on Adam H, his JC numbers arent anything great, and that's against lower level competition. I'd pass on him and keep the scholly for 07.

Honestly, I'll be shocked if Deonta Vaughn maintains his eligibility during the season next year. He's got major grade issues; I wouldn't be surprised to see him go the Muhammad/White route. Quite a few people on the AAU circuit seem to agree.

I do think that we should be careful to tag guys before they ever get started. But man, I hope that Deonta doesn't screw up. Taking additional APR hits is not what the Bearcats need in the next couple years. I would rather Cronin passed on the kid if he is that big a risk to hose us over.

He was one of the better post players in the JUCO ranks last year. As far as lower competition, what does that say about John Williamson who played at JUCO D2 Cincinnati State last year?

I'll take Cronins statement about feeling Adam H would have been a 2 time POY in the OVC if he brought him to Murray State over stats any day. Stats are heavily influenced by what type of system a program uses and what kind of players are around him. The fact that he tore up the JUCO "all-star" game speaks pretty highly of him.

Playing in the OVC and playing in the Big East are VERY different things.

Which team won and which team lost?

Yes, I realize that, but Murray was very good last year. They took UC to overtime, and should have won at the Shoe. They went toe to toe with UNC in the NCAA, and probably would have won if one of their best players didn't tear his ACL or something in the 1st half. They went right down to the wire with them. They more than showed an OVC team can play with ACC or BE level talent. They also had Tennessee on the ropes early in the year. They were a very good team, regardless of the conference. If you can win 26 or 27 games in Div. 1, you can play.

That still doesn't explain why he's a worse prospect then Williamson, especially when you brought up level of competition and stats.

Have you ever seen Adam H play?

O is dead on here...Adam was in the Texas region which is heads and shoulders above any other region...same region with Hernol, Mike"king kong" White, Bronson...and the list goes on..he was third team in from of X's incoming center Bronson....that same region produced Cedric and he has certain been a solid player for UC
Adam H. is a pretty good player, but I dont think he is going to graduate JC and UC isn't a factory anymore from what I've heard.

It sounds like Hernol Hall or bust for the rest of this class and I dont see that happening either. I've never once seen where he has any interest in UC.

Jerry Meyer said last night that UC is the leader for his services. I've heard recently that UC is very much in the picture for Adam H. I bet at least one of them comes to UC.
Hall would be a nice addition, but I really wish we would have been able to get more HS kids. I realize that it is difficult to get quality HS recruits in the spring. Mick is going to have his work cut out for him in 08. Williamson, Crowell, Sikes, Warren, Gentry, and if we get Hall and Hyrcaniuk, will all need to be replaced. That is a ton of holes in the lineup.

True, but the one nice thing is that Mick has plenty of time to recruit a great class using the available playing time card that he had this time, except he can actually develop a relationship ahead of time and maybe talk some guys into being a super class etc.

I think the 2008 class is going to be outstanding. I can't wait to see who he gets. It will be an elite class. I can see guys like Buford and Gates coming to UC, and who knows what else Mick comes up with. Recruiting is going to be fun the next few years.

I'd pencil in Xavier Gibson as well. Gates......I'm not so sure on, hope like hell we get him though.

Just think of that, as of today, Gibson and Gates are both 5 stars. Gates is the #4 player in the class, Gibson is #8.
