Sleep will be in short supply this week amid the nerves and preparation building up to a huge meeting Wednesday at home against No. 20 and undefeated NIU. For the fourth year in a row, the Mid-American Conference’s West division title will be at stake when these two teams lock up. Toledo will attempt to do what no MAC team has done in more than two calendar years — beat NIU.

Why don't they use our BCS ranking?

That is the second article I have seen this week to use the AP rankings instead.

Toledo has never been close to a BCS ranking that means anything.
They probably don't understand what it's all about.
I think all members of the Associated Press use the AP rankings. Seems that way.

I'm positive that is correct. Why would an AP writer not use his own association's ranking in favor of one that uses the rankings of two of its competitors?!

I like that signature line.

BTW, is it safe to say NIU is the only football program to be undefeated against Alabama???

Heres my rewrite of the story introduction: "Sleep will come easily to the Huskies and their fans, confident in the knowledge the major obstacle to their season goals has been overcome. They now face a mid week trip to Toledo, the football equivalent of a courtesy visit to an elderly relative who has seen better days , in a depressing part of the country. The old folk will drone on and on about days long past, drooling and farting uncontrollably about last century. The Huskies will nod sympathetically, but still take care of the business at hand."

I looked this up a couple of months back out of curiosity. If I remember correctly, Rice is like 4-0 vs. Bama
