When I saw thread title I had ENTIRELY different expectation.
Christensen was a great one (RB in college at BYU, transitioned to TE in The League) and yes 57 WAY too young.

This is awful. He was a great player, and I liked his commentator work after his playing days. I'm starting to finally believe that there really is something to this notion, that NFL players live approx. 18 years shorter than non-NFL males. I would be curious to know what everybody else thinks on this subject.
Actually there was a report printed un a column on Slate (U think it was) after Seau committed suicide showing NFL players live longer on average and have lower suicide rate than population as a whole.
