Got this through a veteran network:

Quote:Xavier men's basketball opens the 2013-14 regular season at home tomorrow (Friday), November 8 at 7:00 PM when they host Gardner-Webb for Military Appreciation Night. All active service members and veterans and their guests are invited to attend the game for just $5.

Looks like just a nice gesture towards service members.
It's nice gesture, good PR and probably filled some unsold seats.
UC should do them one better and allow servicemen and women in free of charge to the NC State game and honor them at the half.
Received a coupon mag in the mail Friday. They are pimping reduced price tics. Considering how cheap their tics are to begin with and their claim that they are the superior program, one would think they would have no issues selling tics

The bloom may be off the rose for casual fans of X. The Crosstown brawl proved much more damaging for their image based on their postgame player comments and failure to man up and move quickly to accept responsibility for on court behavior and crowd control. Mick and UC handled that so well that X is still playing catchup from a P.R. standpoint. Couple that with their halo being tarnished by the Title IX issue and no tourney last year and the arrows are all pointing in the wrong direction.
