let's Go Hoyas, Redmen and Provvy in our big OOC matchups...2 of 3 would be nice....well 1 of 2 from the Redmen and Friars would be nice to complement a Hoyas victory over the "fighting" ducks.

And let's hope the rest of the league crushes the competition they should beat. I love this league and I love all of our teams/schools. At least until 12/31. Then you can all suck an egg.
yep- 3 huge OOC games tonight. There's about 8 good games today, and we've got 3 of them~ including the very first one I would say with Providence/BC. 9 hours away!

I' expecting a W in all 3. Anything less will be a disappointment.
I don't know that I'd say I'm expecting a win from St John's. Wisconsin is a tough matchup normally- brutal for 1st game of the season.

Well, I sure am. If anyone's going to be called for a lot of fouls in these early season games, it'll be Wisconsin, given the way they play D. With St. John's overall team sped, they should blow by the Badgers.

lol, good point. Best thing, it's only a few hours away!!!!
What time and what channel is the Gtown game on?
Going 2-1 in the big 3 games would be a nice start for the Big East.

ESPN 8pm coverage starts 730- one time the pregame festivities will be pretty cool I'd guess...
who's #24 for gtown? the big center. whats his story?

Josh Smith, transfer from UCLA. was a McD AA out of high school, put on too much weight there and transferred last year. Kid was a beast today, didn't expect that much production that early from him.
when did he transfer?
(11-09-2013 12:22 AM)john01992 Wrote: [ -> ]when did he transfer?

He played a handful of games at UCLA last fall and then left the team in December, IIRC. Transferred here, sat out in the spring at GU and then was unexpectedly cleared to play by the NCAA for a full two seasons despite having played for two years at UCLA and a portion of a third.

The guy has a better touch and instincts on offense than I had expected/hoped for, but the impact on our D is concerning at this point.
yeah, giving up 82 points is something. only time gave up that many last year was an ot game with Indiana. Smith killed us in the transition game at times.

thought we actually started relying too much on him quite frankly....
growing pains. it'll work itself out. i hope.

He played more than a handful of games. He played a full season with the Bruins his frosh year.

last year was his 3rd year I think at UCLA. What was said was he played a handful of games last year....

yep, full frosh and soph years and then a few games last year as a JR. that's why the waiver to play at GU for a full two years was unexpected
