I see a Bama fan is in the comments section already trashing him in favor of Eli Gold.

Yes! Man, he was so much fun to listen to on the radio! One of my all-time favorites.
I look forward to seeing him at the mike tomorrow night.
With no permanent employment to lose, I give Gary a 30% chance of getting tossed out before finishing the game. I bet a referee or two is going to finally hear what Gary really thinks. I just hope it is Ted Hillary, Kevin Mathis & John Clougherty

+100!!!!!!
I like Gary and think he had a great voice and broadcasting style. The only thing I didn't like about listening to his broadcasts was the constant whining about the refs. Just never care for any announcer who went that route.

He did the same thing on Auburn football broadcast back before it was exceptable to rag on the refs, so I guess you would say Gary was a trend setter in this area of broadcasting.

But I will find a way to listen this Friday, as he's one of the few great broadcasters left from a time when broadcasting was an art.

Well, let me say this about that: The only thing missing from Gary Sanders's resume is an ejection. And that's probably not because he didn't deserve a few. So I like this game you're playing, and I'll take the over. There is a 51% chance he gets ejected, because his entire goal from tip to final buzzer will be to check that one missing box on his bucket list.
