Bradley played a good game. Him losing the ball 70 yards from goal isn't the reason we lost. Cameron is why we lost. **** Stoke City.
BTW, can we talk about how Jermaine Jones' goal was one of the best in US history considering the moment?

Absolute monster.

Also, can we start talking about how we need to start impregnating more German women? Jones and Johnson were our best players tonight and Brooks' goal against Ghana.
Earlier on, Bradley had a point blank goal opportunity, showed zero patience, instinct, creativity and delivery and kicked the ball straight into Beto's back hind quarters with 3 meters clearance left and 2 meters right for a clear winner. With :45 seconds left we should have been 3-1, not 2-1. I'll not concede Bradley played well. Oh, but agreed, Jones' shot was off the chart awesome!

Think "prevent" defense and tonight reminds me of the UCF football game last year. Outplayed them, had it won, and them bam!! Heck, it wasn't even really a prevent defense. It was a fumble at midfield when you should have been taking a knee.

That is exactly what came to my mind. We screwed around and thought we had it won. Okay, this makes me feel that at least I recognized that much.

The way the game ended left a sour taste, but according to the soccer experts I heard before the Cup, a win and a tie at this point is a success.

It happens. It was a split second touch. Certainly not on this level, but if you've played enough soccer, you've had that happen to you. Still just shocked that we let them go the length of the field in less than 1:00 to tie it.
And that's fair enough, 15. It does happen even though it's a lo Forest Gumpish. But coughing it up at midfield when we had the W is......

Fair enough as well. Cant give that ball up, but.... cant get beat on the counter attack there.

if you told anyone that we were at 4 pts and +1 after 2 games before the WC started, everyone would've taken it.

We would've preferred Germany beating Ghana, but it's still a good place to be.
BTW, wish I could watch the last game of the most dominant soccer dynasty since Garrincha's Brazil in the late 50s and early 60s. Sad to see Spain go out like this.
Bradley needs to get with it.
Jermaine Jones and Fabian Johnson are Germany's best midfielder and right back, respectively,in this tournament so far.
The Great American CHOKE
Was a lazy moment for Bradley.

Next:

So- a draw or a win and the USA plays on.
If a loss- a draw between Ghana and Portugal allows an advance, but since neither of those two can possibly advance with a draw I would guess that game will be wide open.

Plus, could come down to goal differential- so we should be rooting for Portugal. Unless Portugal wins by a lot or the US loses by a lot, a Portugal win advances us. We are plus 1, they are minus 4, so they would have to make up a net 5- like a 3-0 win with a 0-2 US loss. A Ghana win with a US loss would at minimum tie it up on goal difference- as they would at least get back to 0 as would the US.

Then in a 2 way tie between the US and Ghana, instead of head to head being first, the archaic goal differential is first.

My head hurts.

Germany wins the group with a draw. We advance with a draw. No collusion but I predict a draw.
Hopefully Klinnsmann can talk to his German buddies and agree to a draw.

It also really shows how far soccer has come in the US that a tie against Portugal (the #4 team in the world) is disappointing.

Funny, there's actually an article on speculations that he might try and cut a deal with the German side, which he adamantly denies.

Any who: Scenarios which would guarantee a U.S. advance to next round:

(1) U.S. win over Germany = Advance
(2) U.S. tie with Germany = Advance
(3) Portugal and Ghana tie = U.S. advance
(4) U.S. lose by 2 or less goals, Portugal wins by 2 or less goals = U.S. Advance based on GD
(5) U.S. lose by 1, Ghana wins by 1 = GD both at 0, but (I think this would be correct), U.S. would Advance since we won against Ghana.
I keep watching the replay of the cross and wishing Howard would de charged the cross
