Can we actually talk about the upcoming FBS opponent please?

There is no "e" on the end of "potato." And their football team is terrible.

Also i realize they have only won 1 game this season, however they are an FBS opponent does any one know what kind of offense or defense they run?
Regardless of their record it would be a nice accomplishment for ODU to get that first FBS win, especially on the road, in their last year as an FCS.

Maybe the 4th time is the charm.
This is not a game we should be expecting to win. ODU quite frankly has struggled to back to back performances together all season long. Idaho has played a very strong schedule, actually beat Temple and played Northern Illinois very tough.

Most computer data I've seen has ODU winning by 3 but I don't think that takes into account the multitude of injuries we are accruing to key personnel.

I have no idea what to expect in this one.

R8R, I know eriq lewis has his shoulder dislocated but no idea what other injuries are and how serious they are. Do you think Gerard's and anthony's injuries are bad enough to keep them out of for the game? I ask this because Eriq Lewis injury was the only one brought up during discussion so i though the others are fine like probably keep out of a game bad.
We are certainly starting to feel the wrath of the injury bug. This just means opportunity for some other players (some of whom may have been starters in the past), so there may be hope for us to have another great Monarch performance. Aim high.

12thMonarch, it sounds like CB Eriq Lewis, and LB Anthony Wilson are out for the rest of the season, and that RB Gerard Johnson will probably miss the Idaho game. I am sticking with my 9-3 prediction.
Blair Roberts-concussion like symptoms
Marquel Thomas-Hip flexor
Gerard Johnson-High ankle sprain
Eriq Lewis-Shoulder*likely out for the year
Anthony Wilson-*likely out for the year
Richie Staton-limited all week in practice and this past game
No Roberts and Thomas hurts our offense, but I am highly impressed with the way Pascal has played lately.
It's interesting that Keyshawn Henderson was supposed to be our most talented receiver, yet we RS him despite ample opportunity to get some snaps.

We don't need him right now. We have a plethora of receivers, especially smaller ones, that can compete well with this year's schedule in a lame duck season.
Going forward into FBS, we are going to need the big receivers.

Okay. I remember he was on the very first two deep released before ECU. I haven't heard about him thru any media since.

That probably speaks equally to ODU's current status as fcs transitional as well as our depth at that position.
If J.M. Poo was able to beat Tech, Then I'm sure ODU will handle Idaho. Come on 757!!!!
I have the sneaking suspicion that Idaho is going to give us a serious game, despite their recent failings. Long-distance travel for our team, playing in a dome, against an FBS squad that has likely scouted us the entire season and really does not want to lose to another FCS school, albeit a transitioning one. If there's any fire in that Idaho team, I expect it to come out when we play them. I still think we win, but barely.

Thanks booman. I know our morale(on a whole fan base level) is little low right now due to lot of injuries to key personnel but nonetheless this is a winnable game and i hope we play to our potential in the kibbie dome and bring home the win. I am going to make a lot of IDAHO potato soup 05-stirthepot

Let me think...NOPE, I'm just curious. Ok, Ok...so Bear Bryant use to talk to players who could not go to Alabama, and funneled them to Grambling and FAMU. I'm just saying, if ODU has a recruit that is just not FBS material, why not have them look at another local 757 team 04-cheers

Time for the entire area to work together, right?
