It's the BCS equivalent of Mobile vs Detroit. There are some who prefer one, but they are clearly on meth and have never been to the other.

I could care less, as long as we go. Another BCS bowl is going to help pour gas on the recruiting fire that we have already realized from last years appearance.
To me it boils down to this, Fresno State has only beat a bad Boise State team. Their strength of schdeule is weak, at least weaker than ours. Human voters don't want NIU back after the precieved blow out last year in OB, even though the game was a lot closer than others would like to admit.
One freaking FG by SDSU and we would not even care. Game of inches it is, and it's the last inch that usally gets you.

hahah that's a good analogy. I know UCF is the AQ pick, and they have a really really good team, but I just get this feeling NIU might even be the "sexier" pic if they are in position. NIU brought excellent television ratings last year and I'm sure that will be looked at, and also Lynch is a player everyone wants to see. I would not be shocked if the Sugar took NIU over UCF.
USA Today, like most of their articles, spent about 5 minutes on this.

I still get confused by bowl locations for the MAC, not to mention opponents. But I guess it's all about following. I would guess NIU brought 2x more to OB than the rest of the MAC combined did for their bowl games.
You would think they could get Indy somehow involved in a game. Maybe scheduling w/ b-10 championship and colts has something to do with it. Detroit has been a waste, you would be going there for consectutive games and the name "Detroit" alone scares people. Makes a little more sense financially and for fans then Mobile and Idaho, Bahammas and Boca Raton. 4.5 hr drive or less from all but Buffalo and UMASS
And I do think MAC needs to take a hard look at MACC being played on campus.
NIU will be favored in rest of games including MACC (if they get there), Like our odds at this point. Fresno likely to have an off game and lose one. I have a dream, hope it happens. Can it happen 2 years in a row. Why not? God knows we have suffered through enough bad times. The strides we have made in the last 10 years is magical!

Favored but not by much im guessing, would you guess maybe NIU -5 vs BSU and -2 vs Toledo?
