After today's games (10/26) I think the SBC will have 5 bowl-eligible teams, down from my prediction of 6 from last week.

Here are the 8 teams this year with games left and wins needed to get to 6 wins:

Louisiana: 5-2 overall (3-0 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3)-- New Mexico St., Troy, ULM
Away (2): Georgia St., South Alabama
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1

Troy: 5-3 overall (3-1 SBC)
Games Left: Home (2): ULM , Texas St.
Away (2): Louisiana, Mississippi
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1

South Alabama: 3-4 overall (1-2 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3): Ark. St., ULM, Louisiana
Away (2): Navy, Georgia St
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 3

Arkansas St.: 3-4 overall (1-1 SBC)
Games Left: Home (2): Texas St. and Georgia State
Away (3): South Alabama, ULM, WKU
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 3

ULM: 4-4 overall (2-1 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): Ark. State
Away (3): Troy, South Alabama, Louisiana
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 2

Texas St: 5-3 overall (2-2 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): WKU
Away (3): Idaho, Ark. St., Troy
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1

Western Kentucky: 4-4 overall (1-3 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): Arkansas St.
Away (3): Georgia St., Army, Texas St.
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 2

Georgia State: 0-8 overall (0-3 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3): WKU, Louisiana, South Alabama
Away (1): Ark. St.
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: Cannot get bowl eligible

Here is my best guess right now at teams that will have at least 6 wins:
Louisiana
Troy
Texas St.
South Alabama
Arkansas St.

I know 5 will not be bowling but it is very realistic to see 3 SBC teams going bowling.
This isn't as fun to think about anymore. LOL
I still believe South Alabama gets to 6 wins and possibly even 7.

Very possible

With Browning back Im more worried when I wasn't earlier in the month.

Good thing its at Home.

ULM also has the damn Voodoo on Troy 04-chairshot
Well, there ya go... I just realized. If we win at Troy and at stAte, we are guaranteed the second place in conference spot.

So glad it will be an easy road... SHEESH.
Western is out. No chance of a bowl.

I wouldn't say that. You only need 2 more wins.
I think TXST would have to get 2 more wins to get invited to a bowl as I don't see us being first or second in the SBC.

If we aren't #2 in the Sun Belt, I just don't see us getting an invite.

From the looks of it, we aren't going to get an "at large" (for lack of a better phrase) bowl bid. The Sun Belt will fill their two bowl commitments, but probably not have the opportunity to fill someone else's.

That's how I see it as well. Anything other than two slots will be a huge gift to the Belt this year.
I see ULM needs two wins to be bowl eligible. Are they going to be favored in any games even with a healthy Browning?

Last night in New Orleans the TooLame post game show were feeling really giddy, and did not talk highly of ULM. Made comments that the Wave were physically better than the Hoax.
Three losses in the last minute of games is killing us. We are four plays away from 7-0, we are also 2 plays away from 1-6..... Damn these close games.
I understand people keeping tack on OC games early on, but at some point you simply focus on the teams we all play on a more or less equal field. This tells me South Alabama is a dangerous team, and Troy as well. ULM improving, and thank God WE no longer have to worry about TxSt, ASU, and WKU.

Right now South will have to get a lotta help for a share of the conference title, but are clearly good enough to be spoilers.

I never said they were competent projections!
Espn has new projections

Both project Troy to godaddy against northern Illinois
And UL vs Tulane in New Orleans

I like that NIU matchup... NIU would be ranked and knocking them off could get Troy ranked!

Losses to Duke, Arkansas State and a blowout at MSU eliminated any chance of being ranked this season. I just want to beat ULM. 05-mafia

Probably.

However that Duke loss don't look so bad now.

That would be a perfect scenario. We'd travel well there, especially since it is our first bowl game.

The rankings are insane, but still... That would be great for us.

Only real bowls that would be better would be the Cotton Bowl, Alamo Bowl, and the Texas Bowl... All of which we have NO chance in.
