NEVER MIND...
I think this all ties back to an old tweet from MH3 mentioned at http://the-boneyard.com/threads/non-key-...st-728981. I don't see any actual links to blueGoldSports.

Texas is playing the Big12 for fools. Oliver Luck learned yesterday that UT had entered a non-disclosure agreement with the Big10 a few months back and have been hammering out details for UT to join the Big10 with another school(GT-according to what Luck was told) to make 16. The LHN, which was once considered the biggest hurdle to overcome, would remain UT's and Espn's but BTN would also get UT content-just not as much as the other 15. UT would take a smaller share of BTN revenues(which will grow astronomically after adding GA and TX) than the other members but still stands to make over $50 million per year for all tv money(non-postseason ) according to projections from the B10. That's all the info I have been able to obtain in regards to this matter and what I have now was obtained from eavesdropping on my sources part. Luck seemed shocked and surprised at this news but it doesn't seem to have deterred him from taking the job even though during his interview he pitched a 12 team B12 with 8 games and a CCG. I won't pretend to understand how the big10 plans on skirting the GOR but everything I've been hearing is hinting that the answer is in the details of what the networks are actually paying for-yes, they are TV rights to a university's athletic games-but those games have a specific name and description. Failing that, the B10 has stores of cash to pay for a broken GOR or 2 if need be. Will UT move to the Big10 and what does that mean for WVU and the rest of B12? Before anyone jumps off a bridge keep this in mind: last year the Big10 had as many as 8 of those non-disclosure agreements in place with various schools and only 2 came to fruition. But if UT were to bolt the B12...well, that changes everything.
That's really interesting.

Texas is conference poison though.

Big12 is doomed.
Amazing how Luck learns the details with a non-disclosure in place and then those details make it back to a "source"...
Why is a non-disclosure agreement smoke to the proverbial fire of realignment?
Not gonna happen. These "sources" don't seem to understand that any administration that put Texas in the Big 10 would either be found strung up in a dark alley or never found at all. Of course, that's an extreme exaggeration, but I can assure you that alumni and the Longhorn fan base would never go for this.
Also ignores the plain fact that there is no way OSU/TTU/TCU/BU let their meal tickets walk away and leave them in what will then be the newest G6 league.

Not without the mother of all political **** storm and lawsuit battles first.
The rumor started at BlueGoldNews.com. So that should have told you something. The rumor mongers there have a great track record... 03-banghead
Texas politicians would go nuts if remotely true.
And, ... the rumor has already been dispelled on Texas sites and Oklahoma sites since it was first posted over a week ago. Texas had entered into discussions with the Big 10 and others as a matter of due diligence to ascertain values and options and after the discussions ended with the Big 10 and were broken off due to lack of Texas's interest this guy reports the non disclosure form as if it were some clandestine indication of Texas's betrayal of conference members when in reality it is a requirement of the Big 10 and most conferences when their confidential earnings reports are shown to the inquiring party. So as far as all expansionistas are concerned, "These aren't the droids you are looking for. Move along."
If that were it would not have leaked out. There just would have been a press announcement after it was made official and the good bye note was sent. 07-coffee3
Who was the poster on bigbluegold? MH3?
Pathetic troll.

I'm glad you see the light... Far too many posters here took what they said as gold.

I've always stayed in the light, dude. I went into BlueGoldNews.com's B12 forum once, and that was enough. It's filled with morons and kibitzers... 03-banghead

Yep. That was a rough couple of months on this board for posters from ACC schools.

Cheers,

And it's been easier for B12 fans? 03-banghead

ACC posters probably view this more as "karma". 03-wink

Uh, the threat of more ACC schools leaving the ACC was very real, it wasn't fake and made up by West Virginia fans. North Carolina has had to release information showing us that.

Yes, the ACC outlasted but don't twist it into some completely made up fantasy by the hill dwellers.

Those e-mails revealed the initial panic on UNC's part. Cooler heads prevailed. Just look at the months of rumors and secret dealings that took place prior to Maryland's leaving and those e-mails. Typical Ruppert Murdoch chaos theory. Keep telling rumors and outright lies over and over and over again and enough people will believe them true.

The BiG wanted ND, Texas, and Texas A&M and got Nebraska because none of the first three panicked. UNL wanted out and away from Texas, so the BiG got the Cornhuskers.

The BiG wanted UNC, UVa and Maryland, and had to settle for Maryland and Rutgers. Maryland wanted to solve their financial woes quickly and Rutgers wanted out of purgatory.

Things appear to be settled right now due to all the GORs in place. We'll see what the next decade brings.

Cheers,
Neil
