*in Field Hockey.

We're replacing national semifinalist Syracuse. This is probably better for us on a competitive level than joining the stacked ACC.
Don't scare me like that!!!!

You should post this to the CUSA board... they'd go nuts.

Awesome. We're in CUSA, The MAC and the Big East. Imagine a visitor touring our campus athletic facilities.

"Here we have our Big East Field Hockey Trophy. Over here sits our MAC Wrestling Championship and over there is our CUSA Football and Basketball Conference Championship Trophies as well."

If you think CUSA would go crazy, what about JMU?

3-2-1.............
We'll be seeing you in the Big East for everything else sooner than anyone in C-USA would like to think.

You're exactly right. The foot is in and now it's just a matter of time.
They'll get to know us, this area and our ad very well through this relationship.
I'm happy we're in CUSA.

I'm not going to read anything more into this other than Field Hockey to the Big East.

I'm just happy the flagship is out of the Crap Non-athletic Dissociation.

If you want to cultivate any friends in CUSA, don't come out swinging "we want out-of-here." It's a sore subject. Other than that I have got to admit, when I read the header of this post I said to myself "would you look at this s***. 04-cheers

Actually, I believe Sirlion was referring to the CAA.

I'd say most ODU fans are pretty happy with new CUSA.

My work here is done.
I'd imagine announcements for men's swimming, and women's lacrosse would be soon. Seems pretty late for their to of not been something finalized by now.

As for field hockey, the NorPac seems like the most reasonable once the Big East goes away.

Women's lacrosse could go to the American Lacrosse Conference, which would be a major upgrade over the CAA.
Norpac doesn't have an autobid for field hockey, which is an issue. Stanford almost always wins the play in but still, that's something we worked to avoid.
I would imagine the catholic 7 schools with field hockey can't just drop the sport because of title 9. My prediction is that some new conference forms for the smaller sports that don't have 6 sponsored teams in the C7 or Big East (2014) separately, made up of solely affiliate schools.
Temple's student newspaper says we're still whatever Field Hockey conference forms out of the AAC/Big East mess.

http://temple-news.com/sports/2013/04/30...-big-east/

"For field hockey, the new Big East will consist of eight teams as opposed to seven from last year. Old Dominion and Temple will join Rutgers, Louisville, Georgetown, Connecticut, Providence and Villanova.

“We can’t do the same thing because of the new schedule and conference,” field hockey coach Amanda Janney said. “But, we’re happy to be playing top teams such as Old Dominion and UConn. [It’ll take some time adjusting to], but we’re still going to be prepared a certain way regardless [of who we play].”"
in the same vein...we know wrestling will go MAC. any word on the other orphaned sports?

That's a good find. This will be a good league for LM field hockey. Hopefully it remains in this state for the extended future, less Louisville and Rutgers.
