Rivals has a new article on Hasheem Thabeet. His coach confirms that he's visiting UC next weekend. The only other visit he made was Uconn, and he doesn't know if he'll take any other visits. The article makes it sound like it's basically between UC and Uconn. It appears as though he's going to qualify academically. His coach says, as long as his GPA stays where it is, he'll qualify.
Man we could use him! If we can get him and Adam H. eligible to go along with Abdul oh man. . . .
I'm not getting my hopes up, something tells me he'll be wearing a UConn uniform next year.
My gut feeling tells me he will be a Bearcat.
We're due for a BIG signing and a true BIG man.
I would just be happy with getting Adam H. eligible and having him and Abdul man down the center spot. Getting Thabeet would just put things over the top for us!
One thing I don't quite get though is why the visit AFTER the official end of the signing period next Wednesday, the 17th? Yes I know that guys can still come on board, but it is not binding at that point. Maybe he wants it that way or something, would prefer that he was an official signed LOI if he commits, but will be thrilled no matter what if he chooses UC.
I like that he is visiting us AFTER visiting UCONN. He is risking UCONN taking a commitment from another center in the meantime like Phil Jones. If a guy is willing to put a offer at risk, he probably isn't 100% sold on going there.
Being the last visit a guy takes can be a great sign.

Scout has to be wrong on one of them, according to them they offered Thabeet, Jones and Colon.
I read that UCONN had backed off Colon but were interested in Jones and Thabeet.
Something tells me Colon is going to commit to Duquense or KSU.
Someone on another board said the following, would allow someone like Thabeet or others that are strongly considering UC as an option the ability to still have a binding LOI it appears.
