Tuesday there will be an announcement by the NCAA of what will happen to Miami I find it suspicious the punishment or verdict will come down right after they become bowl eligible and a huge game coming u
I don't expect them to say anything ground-breaking or punishing. Maybe a few more scholarships reduced, but other than that nothing else.

How many is that? You've only taken away 5 from last year's class, right?

Not sure. That sounds right, it might be a few more than that though. We've had a lot in the past two years, it's lower this year.
Are you saying you've withheld scholarships both of the last 2 years? I thought your AD said that wasn't true, in regards to Bernkie Kosar's comments.
Miami took 5 of its scholarships away last year. I'm not sure if they took any away this year though...

Miami currently has 74 scholarship players this year. That's right, only 74! Those type of numbers mess with your depth and makes you play true freshmen and walk-on players. Thank goodness we took out lumps last year. The guys that are playing this year are mostly sophomores and juniors...

I really cannot see the NCAA giving more than 10-12 scholarships over 3 years. We've done much more to get our house in order than what has been posted on various blogs from "insiders."
I'm pretty sure they are close to limit of 85 total right?
They have 25 verbals this year.
74 would be in their favor.

Agreed... We have 19 scholarship seniors on the roster and currently 11 unused scholarships, which equals 30 available scholarships for 2014... 25 commits, not counting EEs, gives us some room to handle more scholarship reductions from the NCAA for 2014.
The NCAA is in serious doo-doo... They are such a corrupt organization I wish someone could blast them apart.
I still don't get how the heck Chip Kelly from Oregon and dirty assistants from Miami get 2 year show cause penalties and Jim Tressel gets 5. Makes no sense at all. What Miami did was way worse.
My favorite part is the basketball sanctions. Miami was caught cheating, so we are going to punish Missouri!
The NCAA is a total joke at what point does everyone just break away?

Why would anyone break away? Everyone can cheat with essentially no consequences. Hell, you can hide a decade of heinous criminal conduct and have your sentence reduced. Everyone yawns.

Without the threat of real punishments that have real consequences...tv bans, a real death penalty...there is no incentive to work within the ridiculous rule book of the NCAA.

Why would SEC schools, or Miami, or UNC, or PSU, or OSU want to break away from that?
OSU lost the chance to compete for a championship doing less than what Miami and Oregon did. I'd say they should be upset.

That has more to do with the administration's failure to see the investigation and act accordingly, IMO. Miami was smart to self-impose, if OH State had done that they might have been in that champ game.

Good point...

Good ole Frank Haith was part of the problem, I like punishing that man. He screwed up our basketball program (not that it needed it anyways) and I am glad to see him getting the proverbial hammer (tiny, miniscule hammer, but still).

He left UMass without a scratch too. And he'll probably leave Kentucky on probation and leave without a scratch.
