At 0-6 and getting outscored 241-75....yeah it was time for a change.
The offense seemed to be more upbeat with Mullens than it did with AB. Mullens ability to roll out & move around will help but also he just looked more accurate than AB was.
I'm excited.
at this point, not like you can question the decision
Great move. I liked his moxy and vision in the ECU game. Could be a huge lift for Southern Miss.
At this point it can only help.
Mean Green are not kind to young quarterbacks. (flag picked up).

Can he play defense?
Asking a true freshman QB to start against our defense probably isn't a good idea. Can he run?
USM has nothing to lose. The future starts today.
He looked good when I saw him playing ECU. Looks like a good decision for USM.
It couldn't hurt. What is there to lose? I just hope he can't run....or pass...

Would be very surprised if North Texas intimated many players on Southern Miss, even with their recent turn of events. Lol

Not well....but he will run.

I think our fans were so desperate for Bridgford to be out that they are latching on to any positives. Mullens played well against ECU's scrubs down 55-0.

It is time for someone else....but if this is a guy that can get our offense to produce, call me Pope Francis.
Not trying to bust on the UNT guys, but some of you guys are acting like you have stopped everybody you have played dead in their tracks. You're giving up just under 400 yards a game, ranked 65th. Not horrible by CUSA standards, but your pass defense is 99th, which is pretty bad. Good rush defense and good red zone D, but pretty average at everything else.

Granted, USM hasn't shown an ability to move the ball on anyone, so you will probably be effective against them, but they will have opportunities in the passing game.

We just hit extremely hard and that's something we used to pride ourselves on. It's good to see our defense get back to that and be MEAN again.

You can get passing yards against us, but get ready for a safety or LB to 04-chairshot you
