IMO, you are being very generous to UNC and very hard on SU & BC.

Agreed. UNC's talent level might be at that group but they haven't shown it on the field yet.

Here are the weekly team averages for all the computer rankings:
http://masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm

1. Florida State
8. Clemson
10. Miami
16. Virginia Tech
36. Georgia Tech
41. Pittsburgh
49. Duke
52. Maryland
54. Boston College
71. Wake Forest
73. Syracuse
76. UNC
82. NC State
85. Virginia

I generally agree with these rankings. What they show is the next step for the ACC to improve is to get its mid pack and bottom teams to be a little better.
Honestly, GTS's still holds hope.

Here's mine...

1. Florida State & Clemson
2. Miami & Virginia Tech
3. Georgia Tech, Maryland & Pitt
4. Boston College, Duke, North Carolina & Syracuse
5. NC State, Virginia & Wake Forest
1. FSU

2. Clemson/VT
4. Miami

5-14. Who cares?

There are clearly 3 groups of teams (4 groups is you accept Marge Schott's theory that FSU is in a group all by itself).
Well it is hard to group FSU with Clemson after beating them 51-14 in primetime on their homefield.

I mean that was a beatdown and not some fluky win.
Not liking the dissing of BC here considering they are the only team to play competitive games with both FSU and Clemson. Scoring 34 on FSU was no easy challenge considering the most they've given up outside that game was 14 to Clemson and before getting destroyed they had a lead after 3 quarters which no one had done before FSU did.

2 losses to Top 5/10 teams and a loss to Southern Cal, other than that they've won the games they were suppose to by at least 10 points.

Not saying they are top tier but come on they're at least better than Maryland who couldn't even score a point vs. FSU.

BC clearly belongs in the middle tier, IMO. If I had to pick it right now, I would expect BC to win at UNC, New Mexico, Maryland and Syracuse, and to take care of NC State at home. The VT/BC game will be a dog fight, as usual.
BC looks better than UMD, UVA, UNC, Cuse, NC State, Wake so far. Those schools seem really bad right now, for varying reasons.

BC's with Duke, GT and Pitt in the not great but not awful category.

What has GT done that would put them above BC and Duke?

This but anything 6 and below is all a mediocre mosh pit right now. Funny thing is we could do this the first weekend of December and still not be able rank the bottom half.

Well get used to those 5 being on top because that probably won't change much going forward...

Blasted Duke on the road this year. And blasted BC and Duke and every other team in the state of NC they have played every year under PJ.

We're bad ... but we're not bad enough to lose to basketball schools.
