Schedule this year is deceiving. not a lot of big names or home games, but tougher than you might think at first glance.
NW Ohio, lower division team, easy win.
Boston College: In yr 3 of a 3 yr rebuilding project. one of the more improved teams in the country last yr with 2 of the better young players in the acc. expected to contend for an ncaa berth. have one of the hardest schedules in the country so should be high rpi.
Florida A & M: weak D1 team, should win
Stony Brook: Won 24 games, their league and an NIT game. One of the best defenses in the country. one of the most experienced teams in the country.
Detroit: Often a top Midwest mid major team. expected to be down a little this yr w the nba departure of the junior mccallum. always a rugged team.
florida atlantic: now in conf usa and should be decent but beatable
Detroit : Again, this time at our place
Robert Morris: Top east coast mid major beat Kentucky in the NIT last yr. one of the favorites for their league. tough sched, prob top 100 rpi team.
Sam Houston St: Good mid major program expected to contend for their league.
Arkansas st: One of the sun belt's favorites. strong guards, deep, athletic, built a lot like our team.
Cleveland St: Also usually a good Midwest mid major. They were down last yr but are expected to be rebuilt and a possible contender in the horizon.
Coppin St: Occasionally very good HBC team coached by legendary HC Fang Mitchell. lousy last yr and recruited 3 teammates from a top JC and a decorated jc pg to remake roster. who knows, but Mitchell sometimes gets his team to the dance and pulls an upset so be ready.
Kansas: One of the favorites for the national title. FR Wiggins is the probably #1 NBA draft choice of 2014.
then, the MAC goes back to the 18 game sched. so lots of good league games. give us back the home and home w BG, plus a home and home this yr against league contender ohio. single games w buffalo, Miami, akron, kent and home and homes w central, eastern, niu, ball st, and western.
some interesting storylines in the league this yr w some higher profile transfers and new players and hurley coaching at buffalo
