*************

Marshall @ MTSU
--Marshall needs a W to keep up the perfect conference record.
--MTSU could use a win too, and the game, for comparision purposes to ECU @ MTSU would be interesting to see.

UTEP @ Rice
--Rice needs a W to keep up that undefeated conference record
--SHOULD be able to get it.

Tulsa @ Tulane
--Tulane likewise needs that win to keep up that undefeated conference standing
--Tulsa needs a W to stay mathematically in it.

UAB @ UTSA
--UAB could use a win badly to stay mathematically in it

UNT @ USM
--UNT is nipping at the heels of the top West teams
--A UNT win combined with a Rice and/or Tulane loss could help them out.
--UNT Wins and Tulsa loss also put some separation between the two.
--USM @ 6 losses has to win out to stay alive for any kind of bowl game.

FAU @ #24 Aubrun
--FAU has been on a uptick.
--Auburn just got over on #7 TAMU, will they have a let down?
Homecoming....UNT...we will be a...let's call it a 3.5 dog....won't be enough unless Mullens starts....that probably won't matter....but I like our chances much better if he does!

Seems like we are everyone's Homecoming choice. Tulane, then Tech and now USM.03-banghead
Watch the Auburn Texas A&M game this evening to scout the Tigers. Pains me to say, but Auburn is back y'all. I wish we had this years team play the Auburn that we lost to in 2011. I also hate that we were matched up with arguably the best 4 CUSA teams in our first 5 conference games. Those tough games early in the season really hurt our confidence. And look at FIU, they start with the 2 of the lower teams in the East, and now they play a down La Tech, and I'm having trouble picking La Tech to beat the Panthers in Miami. Have to give credit to FIU, they're starting to play some better ball!

Marshall @ Middle really interests me. Middle was lucky to get both ECU and Marshall at home, but have yet to capitalize. I'm happy this one is on national TV, wouldn't want to miss out on this one!

Still not sold on Tulsa, while I'm buying every Tulane stock I can get my hands on. From what I've heard and after doing more research, Tulsa has improved from their first third of games this season. I'm interested in seeing how they do against a pumped Tulane squad. Tulane has the opportunity to completely kick FAU out of bowl contention after this week at FAU's Homecoming. VERY worried about that game right now.

Besides that, I like Rice, UTSA, UNT, and Auburn.

I'm just hoping I get out of Auburn alive and without suffering hypothermia. I don't own any jeans/pants, can one of y'all help me out!?

I doubt Tulane will blow FAU out or anything, our offense isn't good enough. I would think we would be 4-6 point favorites, on the road, if the game were played tomorrow. You'll have your chances.

Give 'em hell, Owls.
GOTW: Tulsa vs. Tulane. Tulane ends the 1968-now drought vs Tulsa to win by 8 28-20 (was 28-13 but Tulsa comes back with late TD)
Rice should be about a 10 to 12 point favorite, but I'm not sure we'll cover. We have a few nagging injuries on defense and a couple of our starters might have suffered concussions last night. None look serious but I'm a little worried we're due for a bad game on defense (which has been fairly consistent for us this season). We are due to have a break-through game on offense but I'm hopeful that comes against one of our remaining teams with a better defense (at UNT or home vs. Tulane). Rice 31, UTEP 28 is my prediction as we become bowl-eligible.
Back to a normal schedule this week, although I did enjoy the North Texas/LaTech game (didn't watch much of ECU/USM). But I like full schedule weeks better! Some tough games to call this week.

Marshall @ MTSU: But I have no illusions. I think this will be a tough win. It depends on which MTSU shows up and which Marshall team shows up.
UTEP @ Rice: At home makes it a blow out, I'm afraid
Tulsa @ Tulane: The way things are going, this would be an upset, but I think the Hurricanes are ready.
UAB @ UTSA: Roadrunners will be tough to beat at home
LaTech @ FIU: I have no idea, really. But will give it a homer pick, and, Yes, I'm influenced with what I saw this past Saturday.
UNT @ USM: This will make it 3 in a row for the Mean green.
FAU @ Auburn: This may get ugly, although I like FAU's defense a lot, and Johnson is coming along nicely. Tigers just too tough.

FUTURES:
Troy @ WKU: Troy is just playing better football right now.
ODU @ Norfolk State: Played well at times vs. Pittsburgh and Norfolk State isn't that good.
Charlotte @ Charl So.: Bucs only loss is to P5 Colorado. Too tough for Niners.

Owls are gradually pulling away from UTEP. The all-time series is now 10-6 Rice. The Owls have won six of the last seven, and UTEP has not won in Houston since 2005.
I've been 8 days without football and its going to be 11 total before Thursday. I'm ready for Herd football.

FAU opens up as 28 point dogs to Auburn. The Owls are 15-3 ATS in the past 2 seasons. The three "loses" were wins against Wagner, Western Kentucky, and an OT loss to MTSU this season. FAU has beaten the spread against every P5 opponents since 2011. Those opponents include at Auburn (2011), at Georgia (2012), at Alabama (2012), at Miami (2013), and a couple more. If you're a betting man, I'd take FAU ATS.

They all thought we were going to stick this season. I doubt we are everyone's Homecoming choice next season.
