...Is he as good as what you expected? Should they have 2 losses?
Yeah, I am interested in hearing this too.
Jury is still out.

The name hire got the 90 mil moving for the stadium upgrade. The guy is one hell of nice person. Not crazy about his offensive staff (yet).

His methods and philosophy are a 180 from what we are used to. And that is not necessarily a good thing in my opinion.

Way early...but if I had to pick right now with a gun to my head, my gut says this has a better chance of being a bad fit than a great hire. Time will tell.

I think once he gets his recruits in there that are designed to work around his scheme, you will definitely be more successful. It will just take some time.

I do too. In the next 2-3 years. With that said, in 3 years this conference is going to be deep and full of talent.
Based on the personnel UC had coming back from last year and the schedule to this point (3 winless teams, an FCS team, and perhaps the worst big 10 team) I think we expected no worse than 5-1 at this point and probably 6-0. So at 4-2 we are not far off from that, but we also did not expect to see UC lose to USF, struggle against Miami(OH), and give up 20 points rather easily to Temple.

The offense does not seem to be a powerful as we had hoped they would be. The defense was doing well, against arguably weak competition, until the 1st half of the Temple game but got some of that back in the 2nd half.

Losing Legaux during a comeback attempt at Illinois hurt, and then of course the tragedy after the Miami(OH) game.

As Rath pointed out, the style of Tuberville is not something UC fans are used to.

I'm still hoping it is growing pains with a new system.
My personal feelings are that the start to the season has been pretty weak and that we should be 6-0. With that said, we have had a ton of bad breaks between the injuries, the accident, and some crazy stuff like a blocked fg for a TD and the Illinois officiating... so I'm not really concerned about Tuberville in the big picture. Just dissapointed in the results so far I guess.
Way too early to tell. I think Gran learning as a first time OC has been a big deal, especially with a guy like Tuberville who lets his assistants do their thing. 4-2 is pretty unacceptable given the schedule to date, but I think there have been a lot of reasons for that. If UC can win the next three I'll be feeling a bit better. Then the last 3 games will say a lot.
If wasn't for the USF game I think most would say he has done a nice job.
Too early to say much. Butch Jones took over a UC team that went 12-0 and then
had a losing season his first year. We have had some injuries on offense, guys out for
the year that have hurt some. I think we are picking up the pace much better on
offense, go with 4 WRs, one back, RB Tion Green is going to get a lot more carries
going forward.
Way to early to tell. If we had a good running back like Winn or Pead the offense could have been better. Maybe we have found a running back in Tion Green. If so the offense can loosen up.

I was happy when he was hired.

After watching this season unfold, I will be happier when he's gone.

Not going to happen, he'll be here as long as he wants. Sadly, he'll probably screw the program into permanent American membership...and mediocre standing in the conference at that... But I have been a Bearcat fan before Tommy Tuberville and I'll be a Bearcat fan after Tommy Tuberville. But I won't be a happy Bearcat fan.

But I will also say this... I am willing to be proven incorrect. I didn't like Butch Jones much, but he won me over....until he left UC. I'm willing to take things as they come. But so far, Tuberville has done nothing but disappoint.
Jerry did you also want CBJ gone during his first year?
Fans always have unreal expectations. We are in a transition period. The Bearcats will do just fine this year and in the future. We may go 7 & 5, 8 & 4 this year. The players are learning a new system. If Tion Green can fill Mr. Winn's shoes we might even do better. If we have a good Running Back UC can open up the offense. Abernathy and Williams are just not getting the job done. It takes over 50 players to learn a new system and execute it well. That doesn't happen over night. The 4 & 2 record is a good start under a new system. Relax, the Bearcats are in good hands with Coach Tuberville and we will go to a bowl game in his first season at UC. Remember Coach Jones was 4 & 8 in his first season. .

Has much has he changed the offensive and defensive playbooks? Has the changes been for the better or the worst?

Looks kind of like the Kim Helton hire after John Jenkins. Go from high powered R&S team with speed and QBs to a slow down Offense that grinds it out and a D that is supposed to hold up. Those linemen who are great pass blockers are not always the best for a pwer running game.

and Illinois ...and Miami Ohio.

All that being that , having to deal with the loss of your starting QB in week 2, the tragic loss of a teammate and one still fighting in the hospital its understandable how a team and a coaching staff can lose focus.

My expectations were probably too high thinking UC could win 10+ games in a transition year, despite the schedule. Im giving CTT a pass for this year and will be happy if I see improvement as the final 6 games unfold. A thrashing of UConn at home would be a nice start, 04-rock

The Bearcats will do fine. The third string center didn't cut the mustard and neither are Abernathy and Williams. The line change and Tion Green may help turn things around. Go Beacats.
Interesting, do you Bearcat fans think that Tommy Tuberville is on a Paul Pasqualoni like path at UConn?

The coaching staff has switched back to a fast tempo on offense, 4 WRs,
single back. IMHO the right move.
